avodart/dutasteride prescription from doctors

How does one go about getting an avodart or dutasteride prescription? I can't find a single dr between PA and DC willing to prescribe. I've talked to hair transplant surgeons who won't give it but will gladly do a FUT/FUE procedure no matter what your stage. Medical treatment is often not a priority of theirs.

Been on propecia for 7 years and it's effectiveness has dropped considerably, hair fall, itching, losing ground here. How do all these guys taking dutasteride ask their doctors about it, or how do they obtain it? I am hesitant to order from one of these online places where there is no knowing if you're getting counterfeit or ineffective BS. Would rather have an actual prescription to buy from an actual pharmacy.

youll probably have to order online if you cannot find a Doctor who will perscribe. you might try a specialist though? maybe a uroligist?

I really don't want to have to go to 12 different doctors and I doubt most urologists will provide it for a use other than BPH.

What about [honestly not trying to promote it] 'medical wellness center' that I see everywhere when searching this? Supposedly they have real doctors who will give legal prescriptions you take to a pharmacy. Anyone had experience with them or similar?

Call around and ask ahead of time. Or you can search for IAHRS approved hair transplant surgeons near you, call them, and ask.

I have and the 2 doctors for IAHRS in my area won't give me a straight answer. My derm won't give avodart either.

Any place you guys get avodart from that is real and legit?

Any dutasteride users recommend generic version dutas or another for that matter.

Am planning to order from an online pharmacy asap (w/o prescription) and any suggestions are greatly welcomed. :)

Hey I.D WALKER, :)

Using any generic brand of Dutasteride is perfectly fine as long as it's legit. No doubt it's a great treatment for baldness, it sure has helped me out a lot!

Thanks for the quick response Augustin.
Any idea if dutas is legitimate. I saw it on USpharmacy for under a $1p/pill (0.5mg). Again thanks for your valued insight. :)

I get my RU58841 from TheKaneShop. My results have been good, I have much less shedding and itching while using it in conjunction with oral Dutasteride.

I ordered my Dutasteride from AllDayChemist until I got the prescription for it from my doctor, never had a problem with them. I am not familiar with US Pharmacy.

If I were you, I'd go see a hair specialist like a hair transplant doctor, they'll be much more likely to prescribe you Dutasteride than any other kind of doctor. The reason why I recommend this is not just to be on the safer side, but also if I remember correctly, you live in the United States, and Dutasteride became generic not too long ago in the country. I get 30 Dutasteride capsules per month for a little under $6 when I go to have a refill, much better than $70+ a month for the branded drug.

Update....
I've now had a prescription (a real one) and gotten my generic dutasteride from a local pharmacy. I didn't do a completely hard switch, but have been replacing my finasteride every 3rd day for dutasteride (while still taking finasteride the other days) for the past month. I did this because i heard it may take a while to build up to dutasteride and didn't want my DHT to rise in the meantime. Yes, it's debatable but how I decided to go with it for the first month. I've been told also that 0.5mg every other day may be just as good for hair loss, but not sure if that's true.

Regardless, it's early to tell any improvement. I just got DHT and other hormones tested to get a comparison. It feels like my shedding has somewhat decreased but not that much so early to say for sure. I do notice a slightly mild sexual side effect, not very serious, but it could be related.

Where are you getting it for $6? Also, where did you end up getting the prescription? Or are you outside the U.S.?

Some doctors do prescribe dutasteride for hair loss, including hair loss specialists.
