I think there is just alot a crackpots here. "my hair was perfect, then i got on dutasteride/finasteride" and now its focked." without photo evidence, you have zero credibility. If your hair was so great before you got on treatment , why did you get on it in the first place?

For the first 6months i've taken 1 pill EOD because i found that my hair looked oily with Avo.Then i switched to 1 daily.I also take msm and Inneov caps from L'oreal (it contains green tea+grapeseed+taurine+zinc sulphate). :agree:

Damn! Some really negative responses here. I've been considering dutasteride and based on these responses there is no way in hell im gonna risk my current hairline on it. My hairline is just to weak and really couldnt take another major shed/beating. So yeah, f-uck that.

I might consider when there is some more official studies.

I agree. I take the authentic, pharmacy-given Avodart every day, and that sh*t is very strong. There is a very noticeable effect on the nervous sytem, I think. It feels like some of the fluids up there have dried out-- That is, unless I abused X too much back in the day, but this symptom coincides with my Avodart use!

I'm going to continue, though. One day, I might switch back to Proscar. Who knows? I'm on year 3 of hairloss meds, so I'm lucky to be maintaining this far in.

I agree with you Aplunk the authentic avodart is strong. But i tought you knew it.Generic duta is not as strong?Maybe it means that Avodart is greater;; :dunno:

I am taking Avodart for the last 5 months. tried it last January but stopped, then continued again last June. I take one pill every other night, and I apply minoxidil with crushed avodart pills every night and every morning. I am getting regrowth, not dramatic but the strands are getting stronger, thicker, and I have small hairs coming out of my hairline where i don't have them before. nothing to be extra excited about but it's the first time i got this result.

I will continue this regimen for one year. the results are encouraging in my case.

You crush the avodart into your minoxidil?? Never heard of that before. What the theory behind it? Didnt know you could apply duta topically :(

hey all.this is to tell you that after 9 months on that poison they call avodart,i am quitting for good and switching to propecia,my hair loss is 25% worse than baseline and shows no sign of improving, for all those who say don't quit the drug it will be at the least slowing down your hair loss, well thats bullshit because if this drug has slowed it down then i am in bigger trouble than i could ever imagined,i am on oral spironolactone at 150 dose daily and that has not done anything yet but make me shed for the entire 5 weeks.

i have even been on transgender forums(i know insane)to see how oral spironolactone and avodart does for them, guess what they completley stop their hairloss at worst and most of them get good regrowth evn in the temples, these are pre op trnassexuals so they are geezers,it says in the bible these people are freaks and god is giving them their hair, yet i have no sucsess, this is not a dig at transsexuals ,i know they need there hair too, just so depressed that every transexual says that i cannot fail with my regimen yet i am failing horribly

Hello Antonio,
could you post the link of this forum?
spironolactone oral is dangerous!!!!!!!!!
A massive shedding with this drug may be a good sign but you risk irreversible side effect..

Many of us users at less than 6 months are seeing negative..i'm still losing like crazy.

Only a few see it working at less than 6 months I have heard, most positives are at around a year or more.

Still a good few negatives at 1yr though so its anybody's guess as to it working or not.

Some of us neith finasteride or dutasteride works it seems even at a year or more....
