Possibly not. This happened to me last year, then the baby/vellus hairs were replaced by "intermediate" ones. Now most are longer than vellus and even the tiny ones are pigmented. Don't get downhearted, vellus may lie dormant for years, unless a metamorphosis is underway.

I don't think of these as vitamins, which you can easily overdose, they are mostly ageing replacement hormones, good oils and superfoods.
I take other supplements not listed here more occasionally.
Once my new hair has grown a bit more I will to write a book to explain my entire regimen. Possibly, I may have a disasterous shed at some point, my defence is consistency.

Boru,

Why are you taking DHEA?

Thanks for the good question. I think, just possibly, that DHEA helps my system to produce testosterone, which decreases with age. The T/DHT balance is not very well understood, so from my experience DHEA may help and at least does not seem to be slowing my hair growth.

Hi
Try retin A cream with the minoxidil, and MSM capsules. Use a heat bag before applying topicals, to open up the pores.

DHEA gives some people acne, i know everyone is different, but it might cause more hairloss in the long run

Maybe so, maybe not. DHEA does not produce DHT. My thinking is that if you don't have enough ordinary Testosterone, which depletes as you get older, this will cause lack of energy generally, and perhaps thinning hair. As with any supplement, you can overdo it, or it might be poor quality.
As my hair is still gradually recovering I don't think that anything I am doing is very detrimental. I take one DHEA 50mg, though others take 100 - 1000 mg, and not necessarily the micronised type. If the DHEA powder is not fine enough it can cause damage to the liver.
Keep a sceptical, open and perceptive mind. I try, though I have made many mistakes, the trick is to admit them to oneself.

Good point. Anything too hot on the skin can cause damage. Cold water on the skin can also envigorate, but not plunging into icy waters like the Russians seem fond of doing at this time of year.
Have you seen the SADS lamps, which help improve mood if you are depressed during the winter? Would a blast of good white light maybe help the skin also?

Same here.
I shaved my head back in June and have never dumped my head over hot water since. I don't even put it under luke warm. I make sure the water is freezing.
Now that winter is in full effect, when I dump my head under freezing water in the shower, feels like eating ice cream, brain freeze. But as long as I notice less hairs fall, I don't mind at all.

And I believe 100% in this, only after shaving my head.

Winter time is the best to test it:

-Wash hair in warm/hot water = more hairs in my hand and dry skin on scalp

-Wash in cold water = Hardly any hairs, no dry skin at all.

if i remember right, if the situation calls for it...DHEA can definately convert to testosterone under the right conditions
