Bad Barber ? ..

So I have known my barber for years even before he was the guy cutting my hair. It was him that told me about 3 months ago that is starting to get thin and maybe I should think about buzzing it. Since then he has been ... lets just say not giving me great hair cuts. I'm starting to think he was doing this on purpose but cmon it had to be in my head right ?

Well looking through facebook today he posted this ...

" ... thinks there's nothing worse than the 'combover'. If I can see your scalp through your hair, guess what? You're bald, and no amount of strategic combing & or coloring is gonna camo that. Man up & introduce yourself to a clipper. So bad..."

and

"have this dude that comes into the shop. he's around 38-39, and he's bald. can see straight to his scalp on top, but he comes it down and forward to try and hide. on top of that, 'guy lights'. yeah, like he's fooling anyone. if i can figure out how to take a pic without him noticing, i will. dude needs to realize that 'denial' isn't just a river in egypt. pathetic..."

Its not me who he is talking about as I dont have a comb over.. but man that was harsh ... I mean this is the guy who I go to to make me feel better and trust in him that he will do his best to cut my hair and make me look as good as he can. Just knowing now that this is how he feels about all guys who are thinning bothers me and sort of confirms my thoughts on how he has been cutting my hair.

He is straight making fun of the people who pay his bills and trust in him.

I think its time to find a new barber or stylist. This just comes off as really shallow and poking fun as anthers issues. he is a really good looking guy with a massive head of hair so he has no clue how it feels to be in this sort of position.

Anyone ever deal with anything like this before ?

Maybe this is just the truth and all of us who are thinning should all buzz our heads , who knows ..

The truth is, the combover is the worst fashion crime a man can commit these days, so he is right. No need to feel offended if it was a private comment.

However, discussing the hair situation of his clients, and exposing them on the internet is completely unprofessional on his part, and you should find a new barber just for that.

I guess I should say that's what bothered me, that he makes fun of his clients. I do agree about the comb over though not such a good look.

But even then take the mans feelings into consideration. For a man to do all sorts of cover ups means he has a big issue with it and making fun of this person isn't cool.

Have you ever made fun of a customer or client in your job?

Like said, he's a barber, and it's the truth too. A combover is terrible.

Ok, yes combovers are ridiculous, and yes it's nice to vent about clients to your friends. It helps relieve stress and can cause a chuckle to the group you're talking to. However facebook is absolutely no place to do that. His post is severely unprofessional. The thought of having any service worker I use post pictures of a feature of me or my property for some ridiculing online is horrendous. If I were you (and I can be an a**h** sometimes so this might not be your best course of action), I would print out a copy of his facebook post and either email or hand deliver it to the owner of that barber shop and let them know that I'll be looking for a new place to get my hair cut because of the absolutely unprofessional behavior that their employee has shown.

People have gotten fired for a lot less stuff on facebook, although since many (most?) barbers are just renting the space it might not be a terminal action for him. Eitherway, f***'em.

Nah he's right, everyone does that. When I am out with friends and there's an ugly fat chick dancing ofcourse someones going to make a comment about how she doesnt fit in her mini skirt. Highlights when your hair is see through is hilarious anyway, if your in that situation, buzz it. He didn't cross lines yet but if he took a photo and put it online it would be. Anyway I don't understand why as a barber he doesn't tell his client that it doesn't look good and a buzzcut would be way better (well maybe the client pays more for the highlights haha).
