finasteride or dutasteride have absolutely no effect on either sebum , body hair or acne for me. Made me realize not to believe too much in these forum posts where people rave about their skin improvement (or worsening , or any other side effects for that matter).

It has definitively made my body hair slightly less and more sparse. Helped my scalp hair too. I don't notice any change in skin oil or acne, blackheads ect.

it just goes to show you how finasteride works. So differently for so many people. When I take finasteride it cuts my oil production and my face is perfect but my back get a little more oily and I get some acne there. When I go off finasteride my back clears up but my face becomes oily. I think balancing all this hormones in one's body would be perfect solution to most of our problems but it's so difficult when you inhibit one but raise another and when you inhibit the one risen you raise some other hormone.

Ive been searching internet today and this is mind boggling. finasteride blocks the enzyme that converts test into dht right? If I was to unblock that enzyme on my body Dht would flow corrrect? Dht causes head hair to die but body hair to grow so inactivating enzyme would be what I am aiming for?
Now what Unblocks that enzyme? any extracts?

Why don't you get some Sebutape test-strips and prove your claim scientifically? I still don't believe that finasteride reduces the sebum production in your face.

It blocks ONE of the enzymes that convert testosterone into DHT, but not the other. And therein lies the problem with your claim: sebaceous glands (the glands which produce sebum) are rich in the type I version of the 5a-reductase enzyme, but not the type II version. Finasteride only inhibits type II, not type I, which is why it has no effect on oil production.

If you get some Sebutape test-strips (which accurately show oil on your skin) and do some simple testing that supports your claim, then I will believe you. But not until then.

I think that you put to much trust in those studies bryan when in reality sometimes it works differently. I know for a fact and put a knife to my troat I will say the same thing. My hot flashes are gone and no more oily face. My face gets extremly oily. It's so noticable after 3-4 hours after i wash my face but with finasteride I go whole day and when I look in the mirror before I go to bed it's not oily!.
Anyway one more question bryan. DHT ...is it located in blood or skin? (hair follicles)

Then PROVE IT TO ME by doing a simple test with Sebutape test-strips. _I_ have done my own testing with them, and I even posted the results on a certain Web site (I even included scans of the actual test-strips that I used), so that everybody could see what happened with their own two eyes. Why can't YOU do the same thing? :)

It's located in both. DHT is generated in various bodily tissues, and some of it "leaks out" into the bloodstream.

ok I'll prove it to you! where can I buy those test-straps?

I just love to prove people wrong just like I did with stretch marks which they said can not be removed!
