that is some good advice there.

but living in power suits to make yourself look cool literally sucks though.

but yeah when im in a jogger and a tank top i feel like a crazy monk bald, or some sort of mini wrestler (but without muscles - like i am in training)

i never tried power suit, im guessing it would look cool though.

but this advice is good but it is ultimately offensive to think the only way i could look cool is by following some very small amount of dress code.

I gave the power suit thing as an example. There are also other combos which work.

Unfortunately, being bald means we have a narrower set of accessories/clothes/styles which portray us in a decent light.

Not a bad idea actually.
Guys are usually clueless about what to wear.
The usual gap/oldnavy stype stuff does NOT suit baldies.

I agree and probably was a major reason why I decided to grow my hair back in and style it again, I missed my old clothes and the different colours that I have, I was shaved for a while and my whole wardrobe basically went out the door as I felt I looked strange in it. e.g I had an old plain green shirt, that I really like but with a bald head I looked like a nazi militant.
I ended up wearing plain jeans and cashmer sweaters or plain shirts mostly.

yeah your telling me.

i went into town trying to find cool bald guy wear and there wasn't any at all.

the only thing that wasn't a suit was like a kind of alternative emo type thing where you wear jeans and t-shirt with a blazer(which looks totally stupid anyway).

but yeah there was literally NOTHING i could find.

maybe if i dressed as monk people would think im cool, cause im short and normal built, people would think it's my religion or something!

also when i was bald i didn't give a hoot about what i wore, some thing just jeans and t shirt, i mean i was bald its like totally pointless to try to compensate.

now that i have hair i wear what i want, i can now buy any clothes, but the clothes shops are all anti-bald, pro-hair type shops, basterds that they are, they will never cater to the hair impaired/folically challanged men of today.

The main reason Bald guys feel compelled to compensate is because they are put under much more scrutiny than full heads.

A skinny bald guy is sickly looking while a skinny full head is still seen as cool.

A bald guy dressing fashionably is trying too hard while the full head with trendy clothes is cool.

The bald guy who works out is obviously compensating and is insecure while the buft full head is just admirably health conscious.

EDIT

A bald guy with a beard is obviously compensating and trying to draw attention away from his head while a full head with a beard is just wearing it because he likes it and thats totally fine.

With a shaven head and a clean shaven face I look like a strange manequin, like some bad sci-fi android. It looks strange and unsettling because there is nothing to anchor my face. That is why I wear facial hair. Besides, even if I had hair I would still keep my facial hair the same because that is my PREFERENCE.

But Larry David would scoff at you the most HPM. To him you are the worst and most cowardly of them all.

You have a distorted view of the world.

The only time I have ever heard people making rude comments about people who compensate was with regards to short people building muscles.

true bald is grown out horshoe, that is real bald confidence.

when i see a man with no hair i think he is insecure, if he was truly confidence he would grow out his hair and have it on display for the world the mock.

GRANDPA HAIR = confidence

VIN DIESEL hair = insecure or in denial he thinks he's vin diesel.

+ being fully bald is only being going for a short while, in 40 years we might be back to square one grandpa hair.

Nope. You got it all wrong. Confidence is not about knowing you look like crap and still pushing it. It's about finding a balance between finding the best suiting look and being comfortable with it.

Most antisocial guys like myself do not care about their looks. We don't care about our hairstyle, we don't care about clothes etc. does that screams confidence despite the fact that we can't even sustain an eye contact with other people? These are two different things.

We are not confident because we do not feel good with who we are and how we look.

becuase i think if you fix the bald "problem" with hair transplant or wig it works so long as it actually DOES bring positive benefits to your life.

i think the point your trying to make is your admiting to your mind that your insecure as soon as you walk into the wig shop or hair transplant surgeans door.

and thus the act of fixing the problem doesnt help, it makes things worse somehow.

but i actually disagree with that theory, my thoughts are if you fix something and it brings benefits to your life then you have won.

Nope. Doing a hair transplant or wearing a wig does not directly imply that you are insecure but having no social life and hoping that a hair transplant/wig/LL/lifts will allow you to have one does.

Cosmetic surgeries bring the biggest improvements to people that are living their lives and are happy about it. They just want more out of it.

That's basically how my body has looked since teenage years. And combine that with a bald head. And don't tell me that it's my fault due to not working out because thats bullshit.

It's not your fault that you were naturally skinny...but why didn't you workout and eat right? I agree being bald and that skinny is a DEATH sentence when it comes to attracting women..

loose it all you are very wrong in your opinion of confidence.

being bald is not confident, you are shaving to try to have a style, your running away from the balding problem so your solution is no hair is better than "some" hair in the grandpa hair position, being bald has always meant to be horshoe thing, which is meant to be soul destroying to anyone <35 (can you imagine vin diesel with grown out horshoe, yes he would look like sh*t)

bald is not meant to be this in style type thing, its only been like that in recent years, even in the bible baldness in men was looked down upon badly.

its meant to be a very unlucky thing for a guy, not cool.

and just becuase YOU think it doesn't matter and YOU think you have this big bag of "confidence" to make up for something so trivial as male pattern baldness then go ahead and live out a full life of grandpa hair (which is true baldness since most of human history) then you come back and tell me that you're better off not wearing the hair or whatever.

go on, grow out full thick horshoe hair and be slick on top and lead this "magnificant social life" or whatever you so claim awaits the bald man w/ confidence, go for it now, proove me wrong.

I'm waiting.

Confidence = wear your hair how ever you like and not be swayed by what other people think.

Now even if you are completely confident and wear grandpa hair, people STILL won't respond to it well because they are so conditioned to social norms. 25 y/o Sly bald guy = socially acceptable (yes UCMan sly bald is socially acceptable :) ), 25 y/o grandpa hair = socially unacceptable. So no matter how confident you are, ultimately It cannot overcome other people's opinions.

If a girl sees you with grandpa hair they think,"hmm does this guy not understand what is socially acceptable or not? does he have no social intelligence?"

No no, being fat and bald is.

Skinny and bald can be pulled off with the right clothes.
But fat face and bald = George Costanza.

Look at the usual hip bald guys. They all have a low body fat %. Skinny face/well defined jaw/long narrow face.

Last week as I was walking home, I saw a bunch of young couples walking about in the evening, hand in hand (I became a bit depressed as I have never had that experience, but thats another matter). I did see a bald guy, not buff, a bit on the skinny side, walking and holding hands with a hot girl in a miniskirt. No trendy clothes either.

I agree being fat and bald is ALSO a death sentence. It seems the only acceptable body type for baldies is lean to built. Masculine features are a +.

But trust me skinny, like christian bale skinny is a death sentence. You look like a cancer patient. If you have big hands, and a masculine face being skinny can somewhat be over come.

typical gourmetstylewellness.com response

1. THEY MET BEFORE HAIRLOSS

2. HE HAS LOTS OF MONEYZ

also for what its worth i think geroge constanza looks great, he has a really pleasant face and great teeth, i dont see him as being ugly fat at all, his face looks far better than mine, great looking guy, its just that he is bald and is 5 4 so hes like me, but unlike me i do not have a pleasant face like he does.

Ben%20with%20Jason%20Alexander%20(George%20Costanza).jpg

looks pretty good, even as an "older" man, looks 10x better than i do (in the face).

in his case i dont see how he has a weight problem.

yes but the same was true in the 1970 or whatever, you coulnd't be slybald then, do you think girls thought granpda hair @ 25 was normal in the 1980s?...no it was just as freaky, its just now people shave that off in this day and age, people looked stupid with grandpa hair, throughout history people have always looked stupid with that hair style, but that is what true baldness is and always has been (i believe).

but what im saying is that its not really confidence being sly, its not the same level of baldness that baldness was in the 1980s.

im just interstest to hear the opinions of sly bald people and there "confidence" if all a sudden it wasnt ok to be sly and they had to go granpa hair, im sure theyd all run to their wigs/hair transplants then lol

my point is that baldness is MEANT to be bad, its meant to look like sh*t, its meant to be underiable.

its not meant to be "a style" like vin diesel.

becuase in that case where it is a style, its easy to be confident, its EASY to be confident with NO hair at all, BECUASE its a style.

but try horshoe, exactly, totally different world.

I'm totally confused with what you're saying at this point lol.

Bottom line: I agree if you can't pull off the stereo type then get a wig imo.

lol well im glad you admit it :p

yeah i felt the same to, i would never grow out horshoe back when i was bald, not for a lot of money thats for sure.

but that's it you see, you see how different it is.

the reason why you view it as different is because it's an actual style, it is a valid style.

but the point im trying to make is that in the history of mankind is that a balding man has never had a "style" he can run away to.

and balding men are not meant to have this "shave, tan and be vin diesel" type mentality.

it was never mentioned in the bible on baldness that "the man was balding so he went sly, got a tan and buffed up and now he looks like a thug"

that a new thing, and baldness is MEANT to be defeat in a man, as example horshoe.

and the horshoe exampe is the classic sign of game over for man, it has always been seen as this.

i mean even when mystery got neil strauss to go sly bald he said "now we will get you a tan and earings and you'll look like a thug"

therefore "problem" solved.

but that is not the problem solved, its not what its meant to be, that is only a choice that has been going since late 90s and will due to expire eventually.

you are also fooling people, because your not showing how bald you are, i mean you might not even HAVE hairloss, its even worse than the combover becuase at least that didnt fool anyone, but slybald DOES fool people..."is that guy balding?"...."we dont know"....see....you have fooled people. they don't know.

its a trick, a gimmick as larry david would put it, it is not what balding is meant to represent, and IMO its not 100% confidence, maybe its 30% confidence compared to TRUE bald that you would have been if it was the 1970s.

but if your tall you can be quite imposing with the bald head if you get me, so i guess that could make up for it!

You have a distorted view of the world.

Not distorted just different. Everyones reality is different because they see it through their own distorted lens. Who is to say who's perception of reality is more accurate?

And just because you don't experience something firsthand doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
