Balding At 19 And Depressed About It... *sighs*

Well, I just automatically look worse than everyone my age now. Being told to cut off all my hair just sucks. Especially when you got the voice of a woman (or little boy, depending on the interpretation), and not being masculine in any way, and yet, I'm supposed to be bald now... come on, I'm already depressed, and now it's worse. Is there any reason to care about my hair anymore? Might as well just leave it messy at this point cause it's going to look awful no matter what I do. Just quitting at this point seems like a good option. Cause apparently, wigs aren't one.

Grandfather on mother's side is fine. All my siblings have full heads of hair (the younger brother is 16 and older is 24), and my father is basically bald at this point. But he's in his mid 40s and he didn't start till his 30s at least. I don't have any thinning like he does though.

Though I will note my mother has a bit of a widow's peak, though since she recently cut her hair short, that could've always been there.

I dont think you are balding, you just have a naturally deep widows peak hairline. Unless you are actually noticing changes in your hair since you are 17 or you are shedding tons of hair in the showers I wouldnt be worried right now.

I think by my late teen years, I had the widow's peak. I don't think I'm losing too much. I can't find much hair in the shower. I find some scattered ones in the sink, not the shower. This is the earliest I have for my hair. I was in my first year of high school. Looks way better there.

You're almost at a NW2 as far as I can see. That's relatively quick for your age but not uncommon. Are you shedding a lot?

Hmm, looks like you’re receding a bit but it’s not over. Read into medication if you don’t want to give up your hair without a fight.

Also I think a different hairstyle would suit you well. The way you have your hair in the 2nd picture really puts the emphasis on your recession in my opinion. Search some hairstyles for receding hairlines, you’d be surprised how good it can look!

I see some hairs on my brush, and in the sink (where I brush), but otherwise, not really. I might have not noticed till now, but it would appear my hairline wasn't exactly perfect in 2016 either.

I think my main issue is all those haircuts are the fact they're incredibly masculine. And I'm not a very masculine person. Which is why I would mainly look into wigs instead. I would never be bald or even have a buzz cut and go outside. Along with medication, that's a lot of money though.

Here's a few more pictures. The first two are from 2016, and the third is from a few minutes ago.

Well, I'm 19, almost 20, so I should be done, no? I still sound like a boy/woman (I've heard both), but I'm pretty sure I'm already done with the voice change and everything else that comes with puberty.

And maybe I will. It's just relatively expensive.

Do not take Finasteride!!!! My son (29) stopped taking it after 3 months and has been suffering from low libido, depression and anxiety. This drug needs to be taken off the market!
