I would rather have a full head of long hair and be bullied, than be balding and not be bullied.

no question

I rather not be bullied fullstop...

its pretty obvious when people hate on something because they are jealous or wanna bring awesomeness down

VS

the person they are hating on is actually ugly, dumb, lame, etc.

ur example is the first. like we give a ****ing **** about haters.

we are all aware hair loss is ugly, "haters" dont matter

I've tried explaining this difference to him before. He can't grasp the distinction between jealously hatred and bully hatred. In the latter, the victim of bullying is as such because he is perceived as weak and inferior and there will always be that malicious element that zeroes in on them. So in review, people hating you because they are jealous = good. People hating you because they see you as less than human and nothing more than a walking joke = bad.

That would make everyone a "walking joke" then... because this "malicious element" you talk of, will always pick apart your physical appearance and find fault with absolutely anything they can doesn't matter how good looking you are, this is the same for everyone.

Yes, it's true being bald means you will receive proportionally more hostility from this malicious element than others but the idea that a full head of hair would somehow make you 100% immune to hostility from these people is totally delusional. They will search for any fault you have and play on it, such is there nature.

There is no such thing as "good" or "positive" bullying regardless of whether you look "awesome" or not, the desired result is still to make you feel inferior and more insecure your about yourself... and bully's achieve this all the time, just ask the quiet, good looking guy at school, who is too polite and well mannered to stand up for himself.

The world has always been a mean place, you can't stop these people from calling you out in public no matter what you look like, you can however choose how you wish to deal with these situations, i.e. in a positive/constructive way, stand up for yourself and give it right back to them in which ever form possible, stay positive, stay composed.... or the negative/defeatist/indulgent way: take every remark about your appearance as personally as possible, get angry with rage, get bitter, get permanently paranoid, get shy and socially inept... that's exactly the "weak and inferior" reaction the "malicious element" are looking for when they test you with their jibes.... they will continually target you rather than others, if you display this kind of "weak and inferior" reaction to their comments.

It's awfully ironic too, that the people who cry, b&tch and moan incessantly on here about the hostile and personal abuse they receive in the real world are the same people who seem to enjoy leveling personal and derogatory abuse at Danny on the regular.:uglylol:

Absolutely pathetic, but I guess you reap what you sow in this world.

This.

And as much as I like you Exodus, you're the last person who needs to be attacking Danny's grammar. As a future English teacher I can tell you that you wouldn't be doing so hot in my class haha.

Some teachers grade on quality vs. content so who knows haha. Not knocking ya, I'm incredibly defunct at math. I had to go through two remedial courses before I could take the one credit I needed for math.

Being Asian and Jewish, I'm sure math is closer to your area of expertise. :p

That would make everyone a "walking joke" then... because this "malicious element" you talk of, will always pick apart your physical appearance and find fault with absolutely anything they can doesn't matter how good looking you are, this is the same for everyone. It is not the same for everyone and it does matter how good looking you are. It all factors in. Out there on the street it is just one big looksist pecking order... always has been. Can't believe you don't recognize that.

Yes, it's true being bald means you will receive proportionally more hostility from this malicious element than others but the idea that a full head of hair would somehow make you 100% immune to hostility from these people is totally delusional. They will search for any fault you have and play on it, such is there nature. It's quite a different thing for being teased for wearing silly shoes than it is for being bald. You can take the ugly shoes off. Anything else that anyone could find fault with besides balding and height are so much more manageable that your comparison becomes irresponsibly negligable by comparison. Being nw5 is not in the same league as being slightly pigeon toed or having a big nose or any of the other examples you like to clump together with male pattern baldness. male pattern baldness is more severe than any of those things both in the impact on your appearance and the weight of the social stigma involved.

The end result is to bring someone down, but the reasons differ. Regardless, most would rather be hated for being good looking than being hated for being ugly. But even that hypothetical is moot considering how well overall good looking people are treated by society, so again your point is negligable.

You've already admitted that bald guys will get proportionally more **** thrown their way and regardless if you deal with it well, you still always have to endure significantly more mistreatment which wears on you because you are always defensive.

1) The existence of a lookist pecking order is one thing, but arguing that every person with no hair on the head automatically becomes an exclusive "walking joke" is quite another, what you fail to understand is that everybody gets sh*t from the malicious element in some form or other, as human beings we can only conform and fit in so much with society, you can't please everyone even and nobody does (or if they attempt to, they are in a permanent state of miserable insecurity, yes that's right even those perfect, saintly looking nw1s nice as they look they still can't look as perfect as society and hollywood wants them to look and that makes them miserable)

2) Silly shoes and cameltoes? Really though? Who's the one trivialising peoples arguments now? lol, I was speaking mainly from personal experience when I made that point but nonetheless I think it applies to most people who've received verbal abuse about their physical appearance throughout life. I had what you would describe as a full head of hair until age 18 at least, but even despite that, guess what?? From age 7 all the way to the present day I was STILL relentlessly teased and taken the p*ss out of by various people for having a big nose, having a big "deformed" looking mouth, having a "deformed" pair of gypsy boxer looking ears (apparently), having a massive ugly forehead (even before hairloss, I looked like Beauvis from Beauvis and Butthead apparently! Imagine then, how it must look now with a nw3 on top!) and being too short for all the choosy girls at high school who would only consider a guy if he was 5ft 10 +.....

Some of this hasn't changed to this day, still get people asking me in public (mostly just innocent, ignorant people, sometimes deliberately offensive) if my ears and mouth were somehow permanently damaged in a fight, lol, so yes I would argue that my nw1.75 or whatever it was, definitely did NOT make me immune to criticism from hostile people, they just searched for another prominent facial or otherwise visible physical feature to dish out their bile on. This is my point they will search for whatever percieved flaw you have and use it against you in the hope of getting an insecure/angry reaction, elevating their status and well-being at the expense of yours, they want nothing more than to see that sad, sulky insecure expresssion on your face when they deliver you an insult.

3) How is this point negligible exactly? Most would rather not be hated for being good looking under any circumstances full stop... you're still getting bullied and you're still in your own mind at least, being made to feel inferior and worthless, regardless of how good you may look to outsiders, if your own private self esteem and self estimation is on the floor then you you will not be able to reap the rewards and happiness of being a good looking person (this is the case for surprising number of them, and no i'm not talking about a-list celebrities, just normal regular people, they take a few psychological knockbacks and have no confidence in themselves)

4) Like I said I still have to endure "mistreatment" from random members of the public who bring up physical features of mine in public, like my mouth, or my ears or my forehead, the only difference now is that I'm well versed in how to respond after years of experience and so don't get as easily riled and defensive as I did when I was younger. If anything I have become more resilient rather than "worn down" in the face of this persistent critisicism, hence my positive/stoic outlook on baldness, I feel it is just another physical imperfection which will attract attention from the public, the more criticism I get, the better I will become at dealing with it, as I did with my other perfections... but hey I guess, being short, having a naturally massive forehead pre-hairloss, massive nose, massive, deformed looking mouth, and mangled ears is still an "irresponsibly negligible comparison" to baldness right UCman?

Like I always say every case of male pattern baldness is unique and individual, and maybe before hairloss kicked it, you somehow managed to swan through life and magically never had anyone tease you with hurtful intent or call you out even once about other aspects of your physical appearance, but I and many others certaintly did many times and a full head of hair wouldn't have changed this, much as I would've still liked it for personal vanity and rock fashion reasons.

I'm sorry but I can't even contradict UCman on all those points. Anyway, who is really bald here? We should have our Norwood's added under our nicknames or in our signatures. I think it would put into perspective the cheerful comments posted by some NW1, 2 or even 3. They don't know first hand the reality of being bald in today's Occidental society.

Right, because other people in this occidental society are obviously completely f&cking blind and can't tell that a guy is balding, despite the fact that he has a high, disintegrated nw3 hairline on top of an already f&cking massive nordic forehead like mine, that looks perfectly normal by "society's standards?" right? lol... seriously I'm sick of this patronising Norwood p*ssing contest bs on this forum, if you want to take that point up with someone who has genuinely suffered no visual hairloss be my guest, but as far as I'm concerned a legit NW3 hairline is extremely visible to everyone and all the a$$hole guys that would call you out for being a nw6/7 are just as likely to still call you out for being a nw3, ultimately they are both cases of noticeably visual baldness, the people who are naturally inclined to be a$$holes will make an effort to pick up on both types, once you go past a legit nw2 you are thereby a target..... and don't give me this "you can just do a combover/comforward" scheit either, because if you have a high forehead and diffuse frontal hair like me, you only attract even more attention to yourself doing that and you look like a clownish laughing stock.
