hey guys, hairline is fine no change or very little, however whenever i get a short hair cut on the back/sides i notice a patch of hair on the back of my head that appears thinner then the rest ? it was qiet sudden then again i never got my hair cut so short thougths am i balding . Im 25 y.o IMG_0675.jpg im not sure whats going on its only noticable when i get my hair cut on a 2 on the back and sides ?? i also have one tiny patch thats completely bald down the bottom of my hair were ppl generally dont go bald ?? i sleep on my back yes , i havent noticed any huge amount of shed , however i do get 1-2 hairs if i run my hang through my hair or use wax to style my hair ! what is traditonal male pattern baldness , its in a wierd position male pattern baldness from the back starts either at the crown or directly in the middle of the head ?? mines more towards the back ?

someone please chime in here , im deciding weather or not i need finasteride at 1mg a day or not ? i dont want it to get worse if it is balding >??

You should go and see a doctor before going on finasteride and have them look at your hair. What I meant was, from the angle of the photo the area that looks like there is hair loss seems too low to be male pattern baldness. When someone has male pattern baldness it is in the area of the horsehoe patterm higher on the head

Yeah, I don't blame you for freaking out. Make an apointment with your doctor so you can find out what it is.

Does it feel thinner than the rest? I have a friend that has a similar patch to yours (he has 2 actually) and it turns out it's his hair colour that different in the patched areas, not the amount of hair. It's harder to notice once his hair is grown out.

It looks like a skin issue and not male pattern baldness. Your pigment seems to be lighter in that area. I know a guy that has white patches like that and his hair there looks thinner but it is still there after many years. You need to see a dermatologist. I am not a doctor but feel pretty certain it is not male pattern baldness.
