Balding/thinning, Both In My Case? Help!

Hello there!

I'm a 25 YO male with bad genes. My family has been prone to balding early and I'm not the exception... Recently, I decided to cut my hair, since I haven't cut it in 7 years...To my surprise, I've lost a LOT of hair in my crown area.

I used to have a very tight hair bun which I don't know if that's the reason why I lost it through the years.

My question is, am I balding? is my hair thinning? and most importantly, can I recover from it?

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Yeah, looks like you're definitely thinning in a diffuse pattern. Similar to my situation.

I've read loads that suggest top knots/man buns can cause premature balding.

Your best bet is go see your GP/doctor and get some advice, blood tests etc.

In the meantime, research the big 3: finasteride, nizoral and minoxidil.

I'll ask a dermatologist about my situation and see if I can take any of the "big 3" medications.

Might be a poor diet, I dunno, that's why I'm asking if I can recover

Man buns dont have anything to do with hairloss. Yours is very agressive. If it's fairly recent maybe you'll be able to make a recovery.

If the bun is too tight then it will have permanent hair loss due to pulling

You got DPA. Diffuse Patterned Alopecia or Female Pattern Balding. Yes, men can get this too. Get your thyroid checked and make sure they check your thyroid antibodies too.

In that case isn't because my body has way too much DHT? Maybe Finasteride wouldn't work and probably Dutasteride might be more useful?

I have a decent ammount of body hair, tho is not thick.

Body hair has nothing to do with balding. Genetics does.
