"Normal" is between 250-800

I tested in at 692.

Pretty happy with that :)

I also still get morning wood (4 out of the last 7 nights, since I decided to keep track). In the last year-ish I've lost 30lbs, then put on 20lbs of muscle.

I'd actually been worried about low T recently since I upped by finasteride dose from .5mg to 1mg. I've been really tired, irritable, and my back has been sore (all signs of low T). I got my T results, and then thought about those signs....

1: My bloodwork also showed that I had mono...which is why I've been tired.

2: My wife's finishing up school, which has stressed her out, which has put a strain on our marriage, leading to higher stress levels and more irritably.

3: I've been upping my weights every week, which I think is putting a strain on my back muscles. I'll lower them a bit this week and report back on that.

Just goes to show you how things can APPEAR to be sides, but really aren't.

NOW, I am NOT saying that there aren't real sides. Everyone responds to things in a different way. Just be careful...the mind is a VERY powerful tool/trickster.

DAMNIT! No one told me.

Well, at least I know there's nothing wrong in the way of ED and stuff like that.

Being at the lower range of T doesn't exactly indicate anything is wrong, unless you have a baseline test that shows your T is way lower than it was before. Guys can have low t in the 200-300 range and still have perfectly normal sexual function; it's different for everyone. That's why there is a range. Some guys bodies need higher t, some much much lower.

If you have no problems or symptoms of low testosterone, or no indication that it's actually going down over time, you have nothing to worry about.

A person with testosterone readings like that would be well advised NOT to touch finasteride (i.e. you).

Finfigther is right. You are in the "range" of normal "men". The PROBLEM with that is that "men" encompasses men of all ages, including men with andropause (with literally more estrogen in their bodies than their wives...i sh*t you not).

Your testosterone level is out of range low for your age. I'm glad it isn't a problem for you. As Wuffer noted, some guys simply operate with less testosterone perfectly fine, without problem. Finasteride might make this a problem though. You are NOT a good candidate to have your testosterone estrogen ratio shifted towards estrogen by finasteride, i assure you. Finasteride tends to do just this particularly over time.

Caveat Emptor.

A causal study has never been conducted linking the relationship between low baseline level Testosterone, and persistent sexual side effects Mens Rea, so how are you coming to this conclusion?

A causal study haven't been "conducted" at all. So the assistance from the literature is essentially NIL.

But yes, it's speculation on my part.

That said, most men with sexual problems tend to have subpar testosterone levels, that is obvious. An individual therefore presenting with very low testosterone levels at an early age is more likely to exhibit these problems in comparison to a guy with higher levels. That appears to be the trend, anyway, and it's not hard to envisage why.

The finasteride link is far from clear-cut, but anyone with any potential red flags in their base levels (low testosterone, high estrogen etc) should exercise extra caution.
