I've tried my spironolactone twice now just before bed. When I got it and used it the first time I felt light headed and very fuzzy within 5 minutes. I made some assumptions this was due to tiredness, long shift etc. Or in my head

Anyway I tried it again last night. Thin film over the top of my head. Within minutes again felt very strange. As in jelly legged. I've always been very sensitive (as far as I'm concerned, I have no proof for this) to any medication. I'm not sure what it's doing. I'm assuming it's getting in to my blood stream somehow. I'll be giving up on it anyway!

Hey
41 (and a half!) Year old male .

Been a very long time lurker non poster.
I started losing my hair around 22. Very rapidly. I started on 2% minoxidil which was much harder to get then. And expensive.

Pretty much been on it since and I still have hair. Although very much thinned. Particularly over the last 3 years it's rapidly disappearing. I now shave my head on a zero which makes it tolerable.

I've recently bought MorrF. Just crapping it a bit about the side effects etc. Not started it yet.
Also ordered some topical spironolactone to give that a shot .

For anyone that wants to hear it, just some advice for younger guys and looking for support I guess!

If you're losing your hair and considering minoxidil start now and don't stop!!! It's 30 seconds twice a day. It's very cheap. It works. I've never had any side effects. It's made me a bit light headed occasionally, especially if my hair is wet. It's occasionally gave me the odd palpitation soon after applying. A very small physical price to pay. It's never had any other effect on my life.

You will be just as vain and concerned about your looks and hair when you're older. I absolutely guarantee it. You do have a tendency to care less about what other people think but you'll still want to maintain some of your looks.

Anyway...

This may sound somewhat condescending or patronising, it isn't meant to be. I just know how you feel if you're early 20s and struggling with it.

Peace

Paul
