Like they said, I don't think anyone knows.

My recommendation to you is to try and find something that absorbs well. I'm not sure of the flutagel, but Genhair sells a 2% flutamide solution with 50% alcohol and 20% ppg. Thy also sell a spironolactone solution with the 50% alcohol and 20% ppg. I ordered Dr. Lee's 5% spironolactone a few years back and it was this goopy crap, I doubt it absorbed all that well.

That's what I've read too. I wouldn't even know where to source it. I think CCS got his from Russia or something?

http://www.myhair.co.il/ru-58841.html

RU 58841 is an anti androgen that binds to the hormonal receptor sites on the follicles, and prevents the binding of Dehydro-Testosterone. Its "affinity" to the receptor sites is much stronger than that of the hormones, making it very effective. This is why RU 58841 holds a great deal of promise as a hair loss treatment. Lack of financial potential is probably the reason for the limited extent of research done on it so far. As long as there is no considerable research conducted, it is unlikely it will become widespread and accessible hair loss treatment. Getting a hold of it at this time is very difficult, and those who succeed pay a great deal of money for it. In the Research and studies section there is reference to research that tested the effectiveness of RU 58841 in macaque Androgenetic Alopecia, and the pictures in it practically speak for themselves.

Faith-Eagle (http://www.faitheaglepharm.com) is a Chinese lab that produces RU 58841 by order.

(Maybe this is where CCS got it.)

I make my own topical by purchasing sage, nettle, saw palmetto, rosemary, lavender, B12, menthol and three green tea bags. I boil 2 cups of water and then simmer the herbs for half an hour. I then add jobobo oil and menthol to the mix and add to the scalp before I go to bed. For the herbs I use various measurements but usually make sure I measure by tablespoons. Cheers!

hair today gone tomorrow said:
how did you apply the licorice and green tea?

i am making a topical with green tea extract only.

1g GTE per 50ml solution, which contains 50% water and 50% peg-7 glyceryl cocoate.
The GTE contains 50% EGCG.

The only thing I am not certain of is whether or not I need alcohol in the mix.

I am not sure about alcohol either however I think it only has to do with absorption. I heard it was not good for the scalp. I've been using a topical solution I did not make of 5% minoxidil and 5% Azelaic Acid for four months and have experienced some regrowth in the temples. I am about to ditch that and go with liquid Rogaine.

Since using the azelaic Acid solution I have notice only a slight difference in scalp which I only use on the temples. I am a 1.5 norwood at 25.

If I did not find this site I feel I would be as bald as my dad at this stage which would be a norwood 3 with vertex balding.

I know it is pathetic in societies eyes for us to obsess over our hair but it makes total sense in a business and social perspective to try and keep our hair. We are merely medicating a condition.

ok, i just received GTE and RK in the mail.

I have made my first topical:

- approx 700mg GTE
- approx 21ml home-made alcohol
- approx 21ml water

I know this is not very scientific because of the approximations, but I don't have any measuring tools yet.

The main aim of this is to see if I get any irritation.

The GTE mixes in very easily. The topical smells only of the home made alcohol, which is a very high alcohol %. I think it's the only suitable thing I can use in Australia.

I plan to use this 2x per day. It will go into a 50ml bottle eventually (not yet ordered) that has a spray cap, so I can just spray it on easily.

I probably will hold off on making an RK (raspberry keytone) topical for now, because of the lack of measuring instruments. I will most likely mix it with Vitamin B12. This will be a seperate topical to the GTE.

ok a little update.
the alcohol i used is also known as raki, approx 45% alcohol. it also has an aniseed smell.
aniseed is meant to be anti bacterial / anti fungal. but i just hope it doesn't kill the green tea.
