Best US Price for Propecia

I've been using Propecia for several years now with a doctor's prescription and I've always purchased from US-based pharmacies (not comfortable purchasing from places that sell pharmaceuticals without a prescription).

For several years, I'd sourced from drugstore.com which offered a 90-day supply for $184.99. Having compared prices from several local pharmacies (I'm in California so Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, etc.), I'd found that theirs was the best deal around. Unfortunately, drugstore.com has since transferred their pharmaceutical services to Walgreens, and now the price for a 90-day supply is $275!

Does anyone have any leads on where to buy Propecia (not Proscar--I'm not comfortable splitting spills either) in the US with a prescription for a better price than this?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I don't know if you'd be willing to do this or not, but me and a ton of other people on this forum use inhousepharmacy.biz they sell a generic version of propecia called Finpecia which is made by Cipla, a gigantic pharmaceutical company like Merk. It costs me $20 for a month supply. A 90 day supply is something like $50. I have never had a problem ordering from inhousepharmacy and i've never heard anyone on this forum have a problem with them. Everytime I've ordered I've gotten my order within 5 days and its always been exactly what I wanted...and yes...the finasteride is legit (I had the ball ache, watery semen, and erection problems the first month to prove it). Cipla is a gigantic and well known pharmaceutical company. Theres no reason to be paying ridiculous prices just because Merk says so.

Wow 275 for 90 days? That is crazy there are actually people out there buying that stuff for that price? 3 dollars per pill is like a scam.

Get your doctor to write a script for Proscar. It's generic 5mg finasteride, and you can cut it into quarters and take 1.25mg a day. It also costs you about $9 for a month's supply!

He said he doesnt want to split pills. I really think he should just go with finpecia from inhouse or 4rx. People get all paranoid about online pharmacies but..theres really nothing to worry about if you find a reputable one

Thanks for the info on Finpecia, Chris. $50 for a 90-day supply sounds mighty tempting. However, after reading up on Finpecia in the forums, I noticed that there seem to be as many questions about its effectiveness as there are success stories. As for me, I'd rather stick with something I know works, even if I have to pay a premium for it.

In case anyone else is interested, Wal-Mart charges $206 for a 90-day supply of brand name Propecia 1mg. This is almost $100 more than what drugstore.com used to charge, but it's the best deal I could find.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Update: Best US Price for Merck Propecia

I'm making my annual trip back to the States next week and want to stock up on brand name Merck Propecia 1mg, so I made a few calls and was shocked to see how much prices have skyrocketed. Here's what I found:

Rite-Aid: $321/90ct
Walgreens: $309/90ct
Walmart: $269/90ct

I can't believe the best price in the US is $3 per pill! Does anyone know of any place that offers a better price?

Incidentally, I was just in Singapore last week and full price for 90 pills was $245. Returning pharmacy customers get an additional 10% off which puts us at about $220. The reason I try to buy in the US is that I used to have a walk-in doctor there who was willing to prescribe for me a year-long supply. Looks like maybe I need to get a Singaporean Doctor.
