Better results: foam or liquid?

Ok, what's going on with the foam? I have never used minoxidil and plan on starting soon and would really prefer to use foam as it seems easier and less messy to apply but it seems almost every time I read about the foam everyone says all they ever got from it was shedding with no good results. Is the liquid really a better (as in more effective) product? Or are they two of the exact same?

Can i please some feedback on this, i am 'itchin' to start soon.

The foam is not as messy as the liquid..which makes your hair look like you dumped it in a grease ball.. The foam dries real quick and is a good conditioner for your hair.. AS far as effectiveness..I think the liquid is better, because the foam kinda gets all over your hair if you have long hair. Just use foam in the AM and liquid at night...Make sure you're not allergic to Rogaine before you use it.....I had itchness and redness...scalp focculitis....

I personally think liquid will be more effective than foam even though I never tried foam. But Rogaine clinical study showed the opposite was true, any good explanation?

Foam is useless, i've used both and saw good results from liquid, switched to foam and they disappeared, so switched back to liquid and the results are starting to show again.

I use both at the moment though as can't use liquid in the AM as makes my hair look horrible, but I think at best foam just helps the liquid, but even then I dont think its really doing anything.

Why not fill the cap with foam, and tilt the cap and melt the cap with hot water, causing the foam to melt.

Then that way foam ends up being better, and dries quicker, correct?

Yes, and if you can find someone who supplies liquid with retin A then you will see even better results.

I know retin A causes scalp irritation for some people. It said the incidence is low and dose dependent. I couldn't find the exact numbers. Does retinol cause scalp irritation too? Also, is retinol converted into retin A in the scalp to have the same effect as retin A?

No it doesnt.

I thought the same too until someone on here corrected me, and stated that Retinol is like Retin A's little brother, and is far less effective.

Anyone concerned about trying Retin A should just give it a go and stop if it irritates them. For me the first few days it made my scalp a bit sore and "burnt" feeling, but after that it settled down and was fine. I occasionaly give my head a day or two's break from it but very rarely.

Can someone tell me what Retin A is all about? What does it have to do with minoxidil liquid?

Its a mild skin peel I think, so removes a lot of dead skin etc from your scalp and keeps it healthy.

It also apparently helps the absorbtion of minoxidil and some studies have indicated that minoxidil + retin a once a day is as effective as minoxidil on its own twice a day.

My question is if using minoxidil alone once a day will be just as effective as twice a day.

Not unless its minoxidil+retin A.

Using standard minoxidil once a day wont be as effective as using standard minoxidil twice a day.

Any clinical study done to show that using minoxidil alone once a day is not as effective as twice a day? How do we know that twice a day is recommended because Rogaine can make mote money out if it?
Just curious.
