I have had great success with minoxidil so far and my hairline is looking great except for the fact they're shorter hairs. I have prom next month and I would like to grow them as fast as possible so it looks nice. Does biotin actually work for this? I used it before but didn't notice a difference. What things have you guys used?

Here's a picture of my hair so you understand

I'm not super worried about it being the same length, if it does look bad I could get the top cut even or just use a concealer to hide it. Any advice will help thanks!

I would give MSM a try, look for OptiMsm label. Get the powder form over pills. Since you have only have 1 month I would take maybe 10gram a day (2 tblsp).
I would give Biotin a try as well, either 5000 or 10,000 mcg. Only thing is some people break out with acne on Biotin so I would stop if you break out, MSM will the job on its own also.
Both products are pretty cheap so I would just take both. Get like 2lbs~2.2lbs of msm (optimsm) powder and perhaps 5000mcg biotin pills.
Keep in mind, at best if you're lucky you'll approx. double your growth rate.
Good luck.

I don't have an issue with acne when use biotin so no worries there. I currently have 5000mcg do you think 10000mcg will make a difference or no? I'm running low anyway so if it will I'll just buy it. I'll look into msm thanks!

Where can I find the optimism label?

I doubt it would make a difference when you buy from a known brand like Now.

It's tested to be 99.7% purity it says one the bottle. Do you think the combination of the two will make the hairs on my hairline grow quicker and thicker?

Biotin made me break out baddd. Like literally war zone in my fore head. I wash my face 2x a day and had moderate acne. Kept doing same and took biotin 10,000. Worst mistake ever. I kept going for 2 weeks pimples wouldnt dissapear. I been off it for about a full week and my face is returning to normal. The horror

Sorry to hear that rumbo, though I've never had a problem with biotin. Have you tried msm?

Wowjpk your hair looks fine to me, do you have a before photo? I want to try minoxidil in my hairline, as I tried Proscar 1/4 for about 1.5 year (some 5 years ago) and it didn't work, neither in the hairline or elsewhere. Also it gave me some sides (slightly gyne which disappeared in time). Should I go for the foam formulation? Also Nizoral didn't helped at all, made my dandruff and hair look awful, so now I'm using T/GEL and other top dandruff shampoos for my itchy scalp.

Here's the before and after comparison https://imgur.com/a/2IRoY

You can tell the hairline receded more when pulled back. I recommend the liquid because it's just easier to apply directly onto the scalp, it's tricky with the foam. I would also recommend you get back on finasteride if you aren't worried about the sides. The combination of these 2 with Nizoral shampoo 2 times a week should help. Though I caught my hair loss early on which is why I responded well. I'm only 17 though..

Well I would not get back to finasteride... as it didn't help as I mentioned. I'm 28, almost 29... NW3. My hair on top thinned as well, but nothing to be worried, as for now it looks good. I keep my hair short (buzz cut) that's why I wanted to try the foam formulation as I've heard that it's not that greasy. I will apply it just on the temples for now... just to see if it works. Any advice from someone who tried them both with short hair?

Regarding biotin... for me I think it works well. No sides at all (I'm reading about acne here... my skin looks and feels good, just a few spots from time to time, even though I have greasy skin).
