bitemporal recession treatments?

Almost all treatements I've come across are intended for vertex alopecia. Some specifically say that they have no impact on other types of men's hair loss. Is there a known treatment (pharmaceutical or herbal) for bitemporal recession? That is moderate to serious hair loss in the temple areas, but not necessarily anywhere else on the scalp. Thanks a lot.

minoxidil .... just apply it to the area where you feel you need it.

I apply it to my entire scalp, and it look like im getting quite a few velus hairs growing.

Thanks for sharing that. I have indeed used Minoxidil (Rogaine, 5%) to control overall shedding of hair. It definitely stopped shedding when I was afraid of losing my hair, but the bald temple areas absolutely resisted the treatment. My hair is very thick except for these two annoying spots. But at least they are symmetrical I guess
Is bitemporal hair loss irreversable? I wonder if anyone had any sucess with the treatment of this particular form of the problem.

Found this on a website

"PROPECIA® (finasteride) is the first oral therapy indicated for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in MEN ONLY. Safety and efficacy were demonstrated in men, aged 18 to 41, with mild to moderate hair loss of the vertex and anterior mid-scalp area. Efficacy in bitemporal recession has not been established."

Sorry, other then minoxidil and finasteride .... i dont know anything else that can help. Thats not to say that they won't help, just stick with it and hope for the best.
