Idk, when i first started to notice my hair loss, maybe somewhere around two years ago. I guess around the time when i started seeing more and more hair strands in the shower and sink. When i moved up north to finish up my undergraduate program, it was a stressful time i got to say; leaving everyone: family, friends and my girlfriend; and moving far away to go live, work and go to school on my own. But i got over all that and I'm in my last semester and doing great. I used to have really thick hair, so i guess thats a good thing, b/c i still have a good amount left, so i have time to fight it. My thinning seems to be different then the usual or maybe what i'm used too. My hairline seems to be in-tacked, and the hair loss seems to be all over: front, back, sides, and top (a general overall thinning). It seems to be a little more thin on the top, but still even the sides and back are thinning which usually doesn't happen. I went to a dermatologist awhile back, and he gave me the story on my "hair is in the resting phase," which i didn't believe him then and still don't b/c my hair is still falling out and it seems like a hell of a resting phase and it needs to wake itself up. The only things i have really taken for my hair was a couple different shapoos and conditioners that were offered to me by a hairdresser i had at the time, i think it was Nioxin. It seemed to help a little bit, but not stop it and no real sign of hair regrowth. Now i just take basic shampoos and conditions, stuff u get at the store. But i do seemed to get a lot of itching and flaking no matter the shampoo or conditioner (maybe it's a scalp problem, but my great dermatologist said it was nothing: use more of a moisterizing conditioner). I was thinking of starting w/ Propecia and Revivogen (but then i heard u can use proscar and thats a lot cheaper). Is it really the same stuff as Propecia? If i was able to start that, how safe is it? What would be the best thing for me to start on? Any advice welcome, thanks in ahead for any advice. And thats my story.
