so what do you guys think? I've heard of people losing body hair on finasteride but I'm gaining . I started taking finasteride exactly a year ago and I have noticed my chest hair increase. Granted it is probly just normal development but shouldn't finasteride stop body hair development ?

I know the body and head hair aren't directly correlated, but they definitely have some connection. I was sort of hoping finasteride would at least stop my body hair development.

I believe most guys experience no change in body hair and I've also seen people claim an increase in body hair. Testosterone probably plays a big part in developing body hair, I wouldn't worry about it. Focus on your head instead.

I've noticed this as well. But my situation is that when I was on Finasteride I noticed a decrease in body hair. I switched to Dutasteride a year ago and my hair seems to be getting worse ( I did 3x week the first 8 months and then I switched to ED the last 3 months, I use Costco Dutasteride). I've noticed an increase in the thickness of my body hair and new body hairs on my stomach and shoulders. I'm just gonna ride out the ED Dutasteride for a year and see what happens.

Are you using minoxidil too?

I noticed my facial hair get thicker on finasteride, however I think it's just due to normal aging. Doesn't mean that the medicine isn't working.

yesir - for 2 years. No improvement from it though.
Minoxidil does go systemic so it could increase your body hair. You also sound like a late bloomer so your body hair and facial hair could get thicker in your 20's. Happened to me. Finasteride actually reduced my body hair.

I wish finasteride reduced my body hair cause I don't want it. I'm not very hairy yet but some men in my family are and I'm afraid of becoming that bald hairy guy.

I've had slight increase in body hair (back/shoulders). No minoxidil. Been on 1/5 Proscar EOD nearly 2 years.

How has EOD been working for you man?

Other than hair seeming a bit thicker, not much change. Still balding, albeit at a slower rate.
