Lol, really ? How do you know that chronically daily use of a potent antiandrogen will not go systemic ?I categorized it as conservative because there's minimal risk in terms of side effects, what are you disputing about that? Lol
it was a japanese study done with cream to treat Androgenetic Alopecia . However , since there was not a comercial and it is not super secret , Americans went for ru58841 .do you have the link to the study? The incread of T done by finasteride is useless, since it is not free test . Total testosterone is not really that important as it do the Free Testosterone . Plus you will have more SHBG and more Estradiol with Finasteride. Most probably, Finasteride Lower Free testosterone while increase useless Total .
But are you going to get done in Argentina ? The only problem in Argentina is, dunno why, labs don't check DHT . You can get DHEA, Estradiol, Tesosterone, Free Testosterone, Bioavailable Testosterone, anything, but not DHT .Well it's already been a month since I started taking 1 mg of finasteride thrice a week and so far so good, no problems at all. As I wrote earlier maybe my hormonal results are skewed and I actually have average T since they were done by ECLA/Electrochemiluminescence. I plan to get another blood test in a couple months, since you wrote some time ago that you are from Argentina like me do you happen to know if there is any place nearby where I can get a high precision blood test done? It's not essential to me but it would be nice.
Yes I wanted to get them done in Argentina. Yeah I got DHEA, Estradiol, Testosterone and Prolactin at Genea Medical Center. They didn't measure my Bioavailable Testosterone and Vitamin D though. Do you know where I could get that measured? And do you know if they measure SHBG somewhere? But are you going to get done in Argentina ? Hey its been a while bud. I'd just like to say that you were right. I didn't get any problems with libido, dick or semen but rather just got brain fog.Offhand I'd suspect low T + hair loss is due to potentially 3 main factors:
1. Relatively increased DHT conversion rate to compensate
2. Upregulation at AR to compensate
3. Lack of T to aromatize to E
As for finasteride being safe for someone in this situation, that is highly speculative. I'd probably opt to trial other pathways first.
What treatments have you been on? Any results?Hey its been a while bud. I'd just like to say that you were right. I didn't get any problems with libido, dick or semen but rather just got brain fog.
I wanted to believe it would work for me and I guess it did in the sense I didnt get any dick related sides but somehow got some side effect I didn't know existed.
I waited for an appointment with an endo who told me I'd most likely still be completely fine on finasteride (about a month ago). I started 0.5 mg EOD. Around week 2 all my scalp inflammation was completely gone. My crown wasn't on fire as it has been the past two years. Unfortunately I got brain fog. Kept taking it for a week and it wouldn't subside so I had to drop it cause it was unbearable. What treatments have you been on? Any results?
Understandable. Perhaps go topical finasteride, or even topical dutasteride? Supposedly topical dutasteride has less chance of giving sides since it has a larger molecular weight than finasteride. Either that or look into trying some of the alternative treatments.I waited for an appointment with an endo who told me I'd most likely still be completely fine on finasteride (about a month ago). Right now I'm still recovering from the fog and I don't think I'll be going on any 5-ar. Topical duta is very enticing but if it somehow penetrates and causes brain fog it'll take even longer to wear off. Honestly now I'll be more susceptible to precieving fog on a 5AR since its a side I know exists and have experienced. Looking into ordering eucapil while I figure out how I can get some pure cb.Understandable. Perhaps go topical finasteride, or even topical dutasteride?
