i've started taking 0.25mg finpecia daily and its been a week but i've developed this breast pain, will this go away after a few weeks or is it a permenant thing? Also does it mean i'll get gyno?
could be gyno, hard to say, i get some slight pain every once in a while, i am sure thats normal even without finasteride, but no gyno either...
how is your weight and how old old are you?
i ask because many guys who start finasteride are usually in early 20s when they start putting on weight and losing hair (not that i am saying that is your)
i would stick with it unless the pain persists, and you actually see gyno
This is this early signs of gyno and you being intolerant to the drug. In many cases gyno is irreversible, so dont take the chance. I was lucky in that I started to develop the tits but reverted back to normal after stopping propecia for 6 months...i was lucky, you may not be, so dont take the chance.
My right nipple became sensitive the first week I started propecia. However the problem went away after I stopped taking Saw Palmetto (1000 mg) and stopped thinking about gyno. Still not sure if my nipple sensitivity went away because my body adjusted to propecia or if I stopped thinking about gyno because that was all that I heard.
Drink soy milk if you aren't doing so. I've read it helps prevent gyno.
Somebody on another hairloss site was convinced he had gyno and got an xray scan. It turns out the reason why he had man tits was not because of gyno but rather because he was fat. This just goes to show you that people overreact to gyno. It really isn't that common.
Give this three weeks before considering dumping finasteride. In the meantime think positive and drink soy milk.
'Highly unlikely gyno could start after 5 day'...are you sure? You are wrong I'm afraid, although you may not develop full tits after 5 days, the breast pain may well be an indicator of early gyno. It takes a while for breast tissue to be visible, but not long for it to start to develop.
As for 'like i said, guys who are starting to lose, are probably at the age were they start to get fat too, and blame it on the drug', well I had/have body fat of 19% and in great shape and I got gyno. You are talking nonsense and some of you fellas who doubt this obviously feel that just because you havent experienced it yourself, it doesnt exist. Well it does and just be thankful that you didnt get it.
Soy milk is no good for gyno...tamoxifen is about the only thing that will make any difference, but like I said earlier gyno is not reversible for a percentage of unlucky sufferers.
Most ranges (dept of health uk) would say that 19% for men is at the very bottom of the 'normal' range (I am in my thirties). Since you take an interest I run as an 'elite' marathons (3 last year) and I work out at some level for 2 hours 6 days a week.
Its really galling, to be candid, that some people think they know more about someone else, just because of arrogance I presume.
