Breathing and Hair Loss

It has long been known that poor breathing can cause a myriad of side effects.

Bad breather (shortness of breath) can be caused by many things, such as bad posture, stress, fatigue, lack of exercise, air born toxins, smoking, the list goes on.

This apparently causes poor respiration (of course) and elimination. This then results in toxin build up in the lungs and other areas of the body including the colon. Thus this can create tension and exhaustion, skin and hair problems too, even pale complexion.

Some of the above I am all to aware of, pale complexion, fatigue, hair problems (as of now).

Alot of people have breathing problems and dont even know it, probably never will. However without proper supply/balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide serious problems being to propegate themselves.

An indirect result of poor breathing may be hair loss. This may be caused by altercations that are further caused by poor breathing and oxygen supply.

It may be left field in theory but its very probably as breathing is a core function that must be in balance for optimal health.

I have no doubt that it plays a role in the health of our hair and may very well cause us some serious problems such as hair loss further more....

Like I said whilst maybe not a direct proponent of hair loss, it may be a contributing factor that if left un addressed will worsen itself or effecting result overtime.

I wonder if this can be correlated to the excessive masturbation theory. Since people tend to breathe differently when jerking off as opposed to _actual_ sex. :lol:

Yeah your into something here.. When I first realized i loosing my hair I lost my breath and still its not 100% recovered
It really took my breath away!!!

But seriously.. Intressting theory!!

So are you going the yoga and meditation route??

uh your bottom ribs are meant to flair out when you inhale.

as to the rest of it, this shortness of breath could be another symptom of a condition which is causing your hairloss, such as a thyroid condition or diabetes. I doubt very much that it in itself is having any effect on your hair.

This whole thread is off the wall.

I reckon that the stress worrying about your breathing is more likely to cause you hair loss than anything else:)

I know this needs to be substantiated, but the never the less many people, in fact many on this board have breathing problems that may be so suttle that it can go undetected for your entire life.

Such breathing problems present themselves in such a discrete mannner that often you will not know better.

While the theory may be off the way it is very plausible although I have no conrete evidence, no scientific white paper that can sooth the nay-sayers; simply because its a theory that not many people have placed much emphasis in probably because it seems proposterous to think such thoughts.

Keep in mind I'm sure that no researching has embarked upon such a theory because it's never been theorised before to any extent that warranted futher research.

Discarding this such theory as absurd in concept could be part of the greater problem at hand. Because we place no validity in such an idea (because no one has made the correlation between the two), does not mean its not true.

Breathing is a result of our sub-conciousness. We often don't have to think about how to do it, we just do.

I know for one that at present I am having to think about it more and more lagley due to posture and poor verbal conversative habits that lead me into lengthy paragraphs without proper breathing technique.

Like I said, its a suttle problem with a large effect.

If I were to look for coincidences;

I got promoted at work in October 2005 (Finance Manager). January 2006 my barber queried "has your hair always been this thin on top?" to which I responded "yes" not knowing any better, since at the time my loss was not noticable and my hair has always been thin - so I shrugged it off.

Hair loss usually presents itself as noticable after the fact, so a three month delay would be probable.

I link this to a highly stressful job, very poor nutrition during the day at work and poor breathing technique leading to pale complexion alot of the time and poor circulation.

Ok, couple this with other contributing factors such as DHT and inflammation, you no doubt have a recepie for hair loss.

Believe me I'm not one to theorise for the sake of making it fit my condition but there appears to be many coincidences that "could" relate to my diffuse thinning.

Now... what about VITAMIN D defficiency?

I honestly don't get much sun at all (to and from my car, my house, my work or friends house). The recommended daily exposure is 10 minutes in summer time and 30 minutes in winter time to ensure sufficient levels of Vitamin D. I'm not even close.

Could it be something as trivial as too little sunlight that is causing hair loss through a complex rejection of cells that represents itself via inflammation?

Obviously its not as simple as that, but again I can not help but wonder the correlation that some of these theories such as Vitamin D defficiency, poor breathing and a host of other factors play in this game of hair loss.

We spend most of our time asking what products can help us maintain or grow hair (propecia, dutasteride, minoxidil, bla bla bla) but very little discussion is based on theoretical causes (plausible ones at that).

That is our biggest defficiency of all, lack of viable exploration on topics largely un-touched and un-addressed.

Could be why alot of p**rn stars have thinning hair, they're always f*****g b****s and breathing out of sync; poorly.

Yes Fight4Hairs, I am employing some low level meditation to help with my breathing.

I'm not lusting for my hair through meditation, but would like to fit into a regular breathing pattern once more for my greater health.

Yoga is another method you could use.
