I agree with that somewhat Thinner; but I'm just looking at his first and last pictures; 1~1.5 years and he went from what I think is a NW1 to a diffuse NW5... That's quite drastic. But he did say that he started taking finasteride in Oct 08 so he might be simply shedding and it'll come back better. I have no clue at this point.

Surely a finasteride shed couldn't do that?

Does Finpecia makes you shed hair at first?

Back in April I believe, I got a buzz cut just to see how it would look, and it looked fine but I was able to see the top much thinner than the sides. As my hair grew it covered up the lighter areas.

Either finasteride is making it shed for now, or the finasteride I have is fake and my hair is just falling out a bit quicker for some reason. I wont know if its working I guess for another 4 months or so I suppose.

You hair changed a lot from the first pic to several months later in the second pic. It seems you lost a lot of density in those months.
The months from october to now dont seem that drastically different. the october one isnt in as harsh of light as the december pic is, but if it was it looks to me like there hasnt been much of a change.

yea i dont think it has changed much from october till now, but that is when i started taking Finpecia. So hopefully if any more hair falls out, its because of some shedding probably bcuz of the finpecia, but hopefully afterwards hair starts growing again. If it doesnt work I will try and buy the finpecia from http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/ , bcuz I still have my doubts about the finpecia I bought... but lets hope for the best :)

So I went to the doctor for a physical, and they recommended me to a dermatologist. They took some blood from me to see if im fine, and ill find out the results of that tomorrow. As for the appointment with the dermatologist, i will be getting a letter in the mail letting me know when it will be scheduled. So yep... still a little waiting game going on... the doctor did tell me to stop taking finpecia just bcuz it was not made in the US, but im going to take them anyways.

If the finpecia doesnt work, im gonna assume I bought some fake ones, so ill order it next time from the same place most people here get it and try again.

Well I know I am replying to this very late, but after my Physical was done and I got the results for my blood tests they told me that nothing is wrong with my blood, I am perfectly healthy as far as they are concerned. I also have an appointment with Dermatology in February, so hopefully they can give me some more info.

I have continued using Finpecia, but now I have started using Nizoral Shampoo as well since I heard that it may help fight hairloss as well. So I have a quick Picture update.

Began Using Finpecia - October 27th, 2008
Began Using Nizoral Shampoo - December 2008

I'd honestly say that I cant see much improvement. On the second picture I do see that back area getting a little bald there making its way towards there hairline on the left side... :(

Overall though its only been roughly two months of using Finpecia, and hopefully in January and into February we start seeing some noticeable improvements. Let me know what you guys think so far. Thanks.

2 months isn't nearly enough time to see any noticeable change. By April you should be able to see some difference I think.

hey briz-

hair looks much healthier in these recent pics. also - 2 months is right around the time i started to pull out of my finasteride shed, so you should hopefully start noticing some serious improvements in the next 2-3 months.

Hey guys, just recently in the mail I received an offer from Medical Hair Restoration to have a surgery done for $4.00 per graft with a minimum of 1400 grafts done. To my knowledge that is a very good offer and I considering doing it even though it will put me in somewhat of a hole financially since I just paid for classes for school, but I could be free from the hairloss for now I guess... unless finpecia & nizoral shampoo help keep what I have. I am seriously considering doing this but I want some feedback about the whole process. I usually get haircuts that are pretty low on the sides, recently i've been getting a 3 on the sides to keep it low and have more hair on the top, but im wondering if the scar on the back is really going to be that noticeable. I have an appointment on monday with them to check out wats going on with my hair and see wat they recommend. If I were to get 1400 grafts would that cover the front of my head pretty well? Any information would be appreciated guys, thanks :)

Firstly mate, don't rush in to anything! Do your research, look in the trnaplant section and ask around on www.hairtransplantnetwork.com

A H/T is not like buying a new car, and be wary of any company offering hair transplant's like some special promotion

hey briz, try to give finasteride and nizoral about a year before doing hair transplants. Remember that your donor area is limited!

Briz, I'll have to seriously advise against hair transplant's at this moment. To be honest, since you've lost so much in such a short period of time, I'm not sure your hairloss has stabilized. That is to say, if you get hair transplant's right now and your hairloss continues to progress, your hair transplant would be very obvious - that would be a bad cosmetic outcome. Personally, I'd wait for at least a year to see if results are achieved through your current regimen and go from there; 2 months is a tad too early to tell. I know the wait is harsh sometimes, but what can we do?

That's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.
Oh, and good to hear that your bloodwork came back just fine; at least you know you're healthy. Health is much more important than hair, in the long-run.

Good luck man.

If your plane ride isn't that long - 14 hours is the maximum i've ever been on... I'd leave it in the luggage. Just don't forget about it. Otherwise you might be able to put it in a pillbottle... I don't see why not? Just make sure you ask the security guards.

Taking meds with you on the plane is not a problem, just think of all the people with the number of drugs they take, blood pressure, cholesterol, anxiety, depression, travel sickness etc... as long as it's not in a bag and looks like white powder you'll be fine :)
