I read that caffeine suprresses testosterone which helps hair follicules grow back. Does this mean that it is systematically absorbed into the body, or does it just do it on the scalp? Thanks.

I've read somewhere coffee was bad for your hair, so now I'm really confused.

4 days ago i started with alpecin coffein C1 shampoo on a daily basis and after shampoo liquid. too early to say anything but at least shampoo is pleasant and after shampoo liquid is easy to apply and not greasy at all.
i'll keep you informed.

With each application of Alpecin ASL you will add approx. 25 mg of caffeine to the scalp.

a cup of coffee has approx. 50 mg caffeine

so even if the caffeine is absorbed, its harmless.

Caffiene will do NOTHING in the scalp. It has nothing to bind to, nothing to inhibit, nothing to stimulate, nothing to regulate. In fact I feel sorry for caffiene molecules being forced onto someones scalp. :(
Im going to start a movement to prevent caffience molecules having to go through the trauma of being forced onto someones scalp where they cant have any fun.

I'm reasdy to jump on the alpecin bandwagon - but I have to wait a while until I have a few extra $$ to invest.

In the meantime though -

I stopped at Rite-Aid yesterday, and for $5.00 I purchased a bottle of "Stay Awake" (basically caffeine tabs). http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod. ... LST-0-SRCH

I crushed up 2 tabs and added same to my remaining 1/2 bottle of "Back to Basics Green Tea Shampoo" and mixed up a fresh batch of ZIX shampoo (Head & Shoulders w/ 10 B6 tabs), and added 4 crushed caffeine tabs to that.

Used the Green Tea shampoo w/ the added caffeine tabs this morning, and it seemed to work out OK. Hair looks good (well as good as a NW5A can look :)

I'm also thinking about adding a few caffeine tabs to my ozbrew.
