I've searched to see if there is any evidence of a connection between e-cigarettes (vaping) and hair loss, but haven't found anything substantial.

I know cigarettes cause hairloss (i don't smoke cigarettes) but I'm curious if electronic ones can have a similar effect.

My hair has gotten a bit thinner since I bought one two months ago. About a month after I got it, I noticed the change. I'm curious if this is related, or just the normal process taking its course

Yes, nicotine raises DHT levels.

No, question was
Can E Cigarettes And Vapes Lead To Hairloss?

Answer is still no, male pattern baldness lead to Hairloss, Nicotine will just make it worse but this is a genetic flaw, always has been.

i should rephrase:

can e-cigarettes/nicotine worsen existing hairloss. i’m aware my hairloss is genetic and began before. My question basically is: if i’m on finasteride/dutasteride (dr reddys) , will nicotine worsen my hairloss or is it likely a non factor?

In this case, @hairiffic was right, they are some studies that suggest nicotine can lead to an accumulation of DHT, but you can vape with no nicotine, or a low dosage.

Nicotine and cotinine effects on 3 alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase in canine prostate.

I would like to know the answer to this as well. How about tobacco dip pouches that go in your mouth?

Edit: I think that it is actually the smoke from cigarettes that carry toxins that would cause hair loss and premature graying, but I doubt it would make anyone go bald.

Also, from the study that was posted above: The apparent 5 alpha-reductase activity was unaffected by nicotine and cotinine.

Keep in mind that even though nicotine may not cause hair loss, smoking can cause way worse problems.
