Hey guys, I posted my story about a week ago. Since then I have ordered and started Rogaine Foam and Nizoral 1%, I had already been on Proscar 1.25mg for about 3 months.

I know every individual case is different so I was hesistant to post some pics and ask what everybody thinks, but I decided some type of input is better than none. The 2 pics where my hair is fuller are from about a year ago, the 3 thinner ones are current.

So my question is what can I really expect using the big 3 with my current loses. Here are some before and now pics, ANY TYPE OF ADVICE OR WORDS OF WISDOM ARE WELCOME!!!

10/05 I would love it if I can get back to that

Eddie, I'm going to be honest with you and tell you that there's not a very good chance of you regrowing those temples with the big 3. You may have success at regrowing the crown and top if you need to regrow these areas, but the hairline and temples are notoriously tough to regrow and you have severe bitemporal recession. Pics of your crown and top would help.

The good news for you is that the Proscar should enable you to stop your recession in its tracks. The bad news is that you probably won't get back your lost temples and hairline.

There have been people who have regrown their temples with the big 3 so I don't want to say it's impossible, but let's just say it's very unlikely. I welcome you to try, however, and if you aren't satisfied then perhaps you can look into hair transplants to give you back your old hairline and temples.

I also think that you are an NW3 by now whereas you were maybe an NW2 or even NW1.5 before. You have progressed quite a bit in under a year so it's a good thing you are on the proscar.

Eddie - I'm going to say there's still definite hope that you can regain some of your temples. You probably won't be able to go back to what your hair was 2 years ago, but since the loss has occured in such a short time, all hope is definitely not lost.

Give the big 3 six months and then evaluate where you are. If you're not progressing like you'd like, stick with the big 3, but consider things such as folligen, LLLT, Ozbrew, Scalp/Skin Roller, topical dutasteride, Prox-n etc.

Or, you could go crazy like some do and get on the most aggressive regemin that you can right now.

I do know that it will never go back to how it was 2 or 3 years ago, when it first started. And to be honest I can live with my temples not getting much better, if everywhere else just gets thicker. I think how thin the front is gets me a little more than it receding. Dont get me wrong though if it recedes anymore I will be very unhappy.

you may have some regrowth in the temples, probably more on the "peninsula" and thickening there

you are doing the right thing man, best of luck to you!

The 1/06 pics count as NW2? That's basically exactly how mine is now, I guess I just assumed it was 3, but I guess since I just noticed it recently I often think of it as being worse than it actually is. I've been on propecia and folligen for about 2 months and i'm definitely getting some regrowth on one side, but nothing so far on the other (which was worse to begin with!) so I might end up being severely lopsided, but I'll hope it catches up soon.

Thanks bubka, It does make me feel a lot better that Im doing something about it now. But Im also so mad at myself for not starting at least finasteride, over a year ago. I noticed it was thinning and receding. I wasnt in denial or anything. Just stupid and lazy. I also didnt have insurance either, so maybe that played a part in not going to the derm. lol

Hey Barnabas, Is that a common thing for both sides not to grow in evenly. I just read a couple of other posts talking about that. I just assumed that the hair would grow in evenly. But I guess nothing can be that easy when it comes to us getting our hair back right.

I really dunno. Probably, as it's common to lose them unevenly. It's possible my other side will grow in, though...it had some tiny vellus hairs on it for a bit but now they seem to have disappeared, hopefully to grow back stronger as they did on the other side. We'll see, I guess. I'm not really expecting too much, but if my hair was guaranteed to stay how it is now for the next long time I would be happy.

i have heard of it not receding evenly, so i am sure regrowth could be the same given similar physiology...
