Can i switch from pharmacy minoxidil to the foam?

I have been on minoxidil for 2 years and i get it made at my local pharmacy. They just batch it up right there and i have seen some really good progress.

However, i switched to the foam around Jan. and i have just recently started to go through a bad shed and it seems that the hairs i regrew from the minoxidil are falling out around my temples.

Should i continue to give the foam time or switch back to my pharmacy stuff. Would the pharmacy minoxidil maybe be made better thats why i responded to it so well? Or would the amount of minoxidil and the effectiveness of both be about the same?

Thanks.

What percentage/concentration was the pharmacy minoxidil? If it was 5% or less, then not only CAN you use the foam instead but you definiitely SHOULD use the foam instead!

I'm sure that pharmacy stuff was more expensive. I get the foam 3-packs on sale and use coupons that can easily be googled and downloaded. Last 3-pack was on sale for $29.99 and I used a coupon worth $15, so I only paid 15 bucks for 3 month's supply - it just doesn't get any better than that!

When you add minoxidil to a hairloss regimen you will get the best results within the first year so you might have responded to the pharmacy minoxidil and then leveled off right when you started the foam. Rogaine is a pretty good brand, you might be going through a bad phase too, but if you feel the other brand works better just switch man, it ain't gonna hurt.

well it has actually been 2.5 years since i have been on minoxidil

the reason i think the foam isn't working as wellis because i switched to it in Jan and now it is Aug so that is about the correct time frame for one to experience the loss in hair they gained from taking minoxidil ( 6 months)

so it just worries me and leaves me to believe that i am losing the hair that i regrew from minoxidil because it is the 6 month mark and i have never gone through a shed of this magnitude

from what ive read you should see decent results withing 6-8 months while on rogaine. however it will take 1+ years until you get max results from rogaine.

as for your shed. rogaine foam is apparently suppose to be really strong therefore the sheds are really strong. I was using liquid for 3 months and in the beginnng of the 4th month i started using foam just in the front including hairline and it seems like my hairline got a little worse (it was getting bad even before i started rogaine so im not blaming rogaine for anyting) anyways im assuming i went through a little shed in the front as i changed my regimen
so im gonna ride it out. and the reason y i switched to foam in the front is becuase i was getting little results in the front with liquid.
