Hi everyone,

I looked everywhere online but i couldn't find a definitive answer.
I'm a diffuser thinner, i used propecia and it worked excellently for me,i had a full head of hair, it was amazing.
Unfortunately the sides were terrible : acne, libido loss and even the start of men breast. I had to stop it, I'm very happy that the sides went away and i will never take it again.
I have started using minoxidil 2% since two weeks and the shedding is impressive.
So I'm thinking, can minoxidil accelerate my hairloss ?
Have i started the treatment too soon ?

How long have you stopped taking propecia? May be iot is the reason for the shed?
Also some people get a shed when they start minoxidil, but then the hair will grow back stronger. I think from the information of Rogaine, it has written that someone may experience a shed in the first few week when starting Rogaine, because it will push out the old weak hair and grow back stronger hair, may be it is a good sign that minoxidil is working for you? One can only tell after4 months of using it, to see if there is any regrowth. If not, then minoxidil may not be for you.

No i've stopped propecia since more than one year.
So i can lose my hair quicker with minoxidil ? If it doesn't work with me, will i be worse ?

Minoxidil does not accelerate hair loss. I agree that it is probably hair loss from quitting Propecia. You should return to where you would be if you had never taken it.

I agree with captain combover. I would probably go back on propecia at .25 to .5 mg a day. Just use a pill cutter that you can get from just about any pharmacy local or online. It sounds like you respond well to the drug, or just have less 5-AR than most people to begin with. I would take it as a blessing if you can effectively regrow a lot of hair while simultaneously taking a lower dose of a drug that saves you a lot of cash.
