Hi all

I am wondering whether sharing food and drink with young male children (say under 5 yrs old) while on propecia is OK or not, would there be finasteride in the saliva or something?

I've posted this question before but no one responded  it's not that stupid a question is it? :p

Thanks

Actually it is.

By your response I'm assuming you believe this is not a problem. GREAT!! But why? Is it because the FDA has not warned about it therefore it's not a problem or is it common knowledge that finasteride does not make its way into saliva or other bodily fluids?

I'm quite new to all this so it would be great if you could enlighten me. :)

I'm sure it does make its way to bodily fluids (I know it can be found in trace amounts in semen)! However, Finasteride is not potent enough to cause any issues in trace amounts. There was a study done in which moneky's had to be injected Finasteride, directly into the womb, several times the recommended dose for human males, before any birth defects would occur.

No problem man. I apologize for calling your question 'stupid' (I was being half-way sarcastic though). It is a valid question, I guess I just get a little defensive with so many people blaming everything under the sun on Finasteride.
