Can someone share the Dutasteride dosing response chart (5ar1 and 5ar2) ?

I don’t know why I can’t find it but I’m looking for the actual chart or study data that shows these:

Dutasteride doses of 0.5mg, 1mg, 2.5mg and how each dose affects serum DHT, scalp DHT, and what percent of 5ar1 + 5ar2 it inhibits at each dose.

It might be separate charts/information, but anything like what I described would be very helpful.

When searching the forum I found this:

0.1mg/day inhibits 3% of 5ar1. So it should be safe from a nerological standpoint. It inhibits 86% of type 2.

0.5mg/day inhibits 50% of 5ar1. So there is a reasonable chance 0.5 mg/day could affect the brain. It inhibits 99% of type 2, from the graph.

0.5mg EOD inhibits 18% of type 1, and 95% of type 2, from reading the graph.

From where Brian drew the vertical line for 2.5mg/day, it inhibits almost 100% of type 2 and 84% of type 1.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I found it useful. There is no chart in this post available anymore.

Dutasteride Dose (mg) and Reduction of Scalp DHT (%) https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0190962206012874

0.05~ -20
0.1~ -35
0.25~ -45
0.5~ -50
1~ -55
1.5~ -65
2~ -70
2.5~ -80

As for serum DHT, I don't have the data, but from memory it was ~95-96% with 2.5 mg
Oh, thank you for this.

Considering that I use Dutasteride 2x a week, could I estimate that the DHT reduction would be something like taking 0.14mg/day?

I believe it would still be more effective than Finasteride 1mg/day, as Dutasteride 0.1mg/day already is better, what do you think?

Additionally, do you know the specific reduction of 5AR1 at this dose (2x a week)?

Hard to say when it comes to the first question.

For the second, dutasteride 0.1mg/day did have better efficacy than finasteride 1mg/day https://www.jaad.org/article/S0190-9622(13)01171-7/abstract

As for the third, I don't know, but in the '06 study they showed that dutasteride provided a roughly threefold higher inhibition of the type 2 5AR isozyme compared to finasteride, and 100 times stronger inhibition for the type 1 5AR isozyme. Since then, others have shown it inhibits the type 3 5AR isozyme as well.

Thanks for responding.

Yes, I am aware of this study that compares 0.1mg dutasteride vs 1mg finasteride. If I'm not mistaken, this same study indicates that Dutasteride 0.1mg suppressed less DHT in the scalp than Finasteride 1mg (30% vs 40% or something; I can't access the study in full, if you can I'll be grateful). Still, it seems to have demonstrated a higher new hairs count, which is interesting. I wonder if using spaced doses like 0.5mg E5D would be equivalent or even superior to 0.1mg ED.
