Can there be a second shed?

I've been taking 1mg of finasteride daily for 11 months now. At first I only took it for my temples. I started having great progress and had glorious hair over the summer. Over the past few weeks I've noticed a substantial loss in hair density (wasn't diffuse thinning before). Am I just starting to diffuse thin or is there a second shed phase? Any input would be appreciated.

multiple sheds is not uncommon...just look at hellousers progress pics from awhile back and you will see that he has experienced multiple sheds

I've been going through multiple shedding phases for the past 2 years have been on finasteride.

My hair has been stable the whole time and feel like it is gaining in coverage. Try not to worry about shedding except if you are NOT on medication.

I'm experiencing the same situation. Been on finasteride 1mg for about 7 months. The first 6 six months seemed to slow the shedding down to almost a complete stop, however, this past month has been terrible I'm shedding SO MUCH HAIR!! In the shower, running my hands through my hair it's crazy. Due to a problem with my prescription renewal I've had to cut my tablets in half so I've been taking .5mg but I highly doubt that would make much of a difference.

Bottom line is I hope this is just a bad finasteride shed and the hair will grow back stronger. I'm a Norwood 2.5 and a diffuse thinner. My hair has rapidly thinned more lately. I want to ride the finasteride out for at least a year I just hope it isn't causing me to bald faster.

same. I've noticed temporary thinning, but it always recovers.

Same here, I went through a shed at month 2 then another one at month 5. So around every 3 months it gets thinner but it always comes back so I don't actually lose any major ground. Apparently its a healthy sign that the meds are working; your hair went through a lot of cycles over the years to miniaturize so therefore the reverse of that process should take almost as much time.
