This has helped me tremendously as I didn't know if they could put it in oil form but they have. The pharmacist uses wet ingredients to dissolve it. Then dry it out. Then places this dry formula in the oil to prevent it from being a wet liquid. I needed a true oil. Hope this helps someone.

Yes you can this is why I posted this as I didn't either but it's changed my entire hair life. You have to find a compounding pharmacist to my knowledge. I never asked the local walmart. I went online and found a compounding pharmacy. Better yet find a local pharmacy they usually do compounding. I don't think the chains do but you can ask them.

How do we know that the oil isn't messing with the full absorption of minoxidil. I think if you can't tolerate Propecia glycol, then this formula is better than nothing, but it may not be beneficial if someone who had used the traditional formulae suddenly try this alternative. They may expect a huge shed.

I hear ya . But like you said, some minoxidil is better than none. Trust me on that. And, it has to absorb to some degree because everything that you rub into your skin eventually does. And, there are some oils that penetrate skin and the scalp because it is different form regular skin, better than others. I'm gonna ask this pharmacist what type of oil she uses because some will penetrate better than others.

I have the same problem, After a scalp sample, my dermatologist diagnosed me with Rosacea of the scalp (which apparently is extremely rare in less than 3% of all Rosacea.) Anyways, so I have always had an extremely sensitive scalp with burning and itching, so when I began Rogaine solution it set my scalp on fire to the point of using cold packs and ice. My life was completely changed when my Derm prescribed me Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% scalp solution. I use it twice a day and about 1 hour before Rogaine give or take 15 mins. It's a Class 1 corticosteroid, so it's one of the most potent ones available and it stops all burning and itching and irritation instantly. And personally I experience no side effects. I use to nearly cry when applying anything with an alcohol, like Rogaine, but now it's perfection. Clobetasol is actually used to treat Alopecia Areata and regrows hair on it's own. And ps there is no other solution that penetrates your scalp as a vehicle for minoxidil better than PG I feel, despite what marketing and others may believe. (Rogaine came out in 1988, if there was a more effective vehicle the formula would have been altered within the nearly 20 years it's been available, and the only other form is the foam which is without PG, but is much less effective because your hair absorbs most of it and it does not sit on your scalp long enough) Hit up your doctor, be straight up. Also, all these treatments I use dry out your scalp, so to soothe it I simply use an all natural conditioner and gently rub the scalp while showering and it stops any additional irritation, I use Burt's Bees Very Volumizing. And moisturize your forehead where you place the treatments at least twice a day with a oil-free, dye-free, fragrance-free, gel moisturizer, I use Clinique Dramatically Different Gel, or Soy Face. Good Luck man, hope this helps

Add Retin-A too. It will help counteract the skin thinning from that class 1 steroid.
