Chances Of At Least Maintaining On Dutasteride If I've Continued To Thin On finasteride?

I have diffuse thinning and I'm coming up on my 10th month taking the drug with really only continued thinning. My shedding stopped around month 3 but came back around month 7 with no stop. My hair has continued to thin since then. I'm wondering if I will at least be able to maintain on dutasteride.

Yes, and your hair will thicken. I started losing at 16 or 17 years of age. Reached rock bottom, as I was forced to shave my head at 18 years old because the hair on top of my head was so thin. I hopped on Dutasteride at 19, and now at 20, I am able to rock medium-hair style with no one suspecting me of fighting hair loss. Dutasteride has thickened up my hair significantly, and it should do the same for you. Sometimes, Finasteride is just not enough bud.

What dosage did you start out with dutasteride? I've seen people that start with 1.5 for the first month, then decrease the dosage,

I got powdered version, so I'm able to make my own dosage. I wanted to start off with 0.5 mg a day, but it takes way too much time to accurately measure that out.. So I started with 1 mg - 2 mg and continued dosing at that range.

you 've got better result on duta ? no gyno sign on duta ?
I got Better results as far as shedding and scalp inflammation. With finasteride my scalp would itch like a mother and I would get painful zits or ingrown hairs..that all stopped once I got on dutasteride..but I also started scrubbing my scalp with nizoral and a stiff bristled brush while showering at the same time I made the switch so not sure if finasteride was the culprit 100%.
No gyno but I had gyno surgery like 15 years ago so they already removed the gland.

Yea I responded great to finasteride and recovered at least 5-10 years of loss imo..if not for the constant shedding I wouldn't have tried dutasteride.

Great news for you. I am continuesly shedding on finasteride for 6 months now and lost 40% of my hair. I am making the switch to Duta ED as soon as possible.

i am really interested in your experience kidbako , because i am a non responder to duta .
So with duta you get better result and no more sides ? and you don't have puffy nipples ? Duta is not making your former gyno reappering ?
so gyno surgery + duta could be a solution for me .

With dutasteride the sides I've noticed is being more irritable mainly..maybe because of more free testosterone. No my gyno isn't reappearing but I do get a weird sensation on one or both nips..say once a week(kinda tender feeling) but no swelling.
Well gyno surgery is around $3k so that's a decision you'll have to make but I wouldn't go with surgery first..maybe dutasteride for a year..maybe one week at full dose ed to build up in system then eod after and reassess after say 6 months to a year.
