It is not a cure, but what about prevention?
BTW my brother in law is an example of mantaining his hair due at scalp massaging.

I dont know why people are so quick to dismiss this and alternative treatments. I agree that if they worked 100% people would know by now, however it's not inconceivable that it slows hair loss.

@Armando Jose can you please explain what you bro in law does and the effects you have seen, he claims to experience?

It's a defense mechanism built up from prior disappointment. If you never have hope, you'll never be disappointed.

The fact is, alternative treatments are poorly researched so we just don't know. Meanwhile, nothing works 100%, and everything works at least sometimes because people's hair loss can randomly stop, or they might be doing combination therapy.

He massages his scalp vigorously in the AM and PM. And also doesn't have male pattern baldness. These two factors have allowed him to maintain a full head of hair for years - try it for yourself!

My brother-in-law when he gets nervous what he does is to run his hands over his head with a certain intensity. And this is repeated several times a day. He says that this practice is what he has done to keep his hair. According to my ideas what results from this action is that hair fat tends to mobilize and does not allow its oxidation. Now, according to this recent study, there seems to be a different gene expression for the same massage. It is very interesting.

I read somewhere a guy was adding his pee to the massage to enhance the result. Definitely worth a try in my opinion.

It might work for less aggressive cases, but it seems like a lot of effort to be consistent every single day, forever.

At best I massage my scalp when applying shampoo, but I often get lazy and forget to do so.

Like the laser comb, even if it works, it's not practical.

Too add to that, maybe his hairloss is less to do with male pattern baldness, and more to do with lack of blood flow and other constrictive factors as a result of stress. You mentioned maybe it helps in conjunction, so in this case maybe by massaging you could be removing one aspect that's also contributing to baldness.

I dont spend lots of time massaging daily, but I do find keeping a loose scalp feels good, and may help in the long run.

No harm there.
