I had a feeling that was where I was heading. I notice when my hair is wet, that I see scalp (I've avoided pools all this summer), but the diffuse seems to stop around my crown, I'm not thinning into a nw6/7 by the looks of things, thank god!.
I don't know how reliable looking at one's hair when wet (I know everyone's hair looks thin soaked), but this my hair before I dry it. NWA5 pattern? Is the horseshoe becoming visible?

Not too bad even when wet. If I were in you shoes, I would try PRP just to see if you can thicken some of those diffuse areas. I know people think PRP is a waste but it can thicken up some diffuse thinners. Keep taking your medication as you may get lucky and not reach your final pattern until another few decades. I still think you are in good shape an have enough coverage to get by with looking like you have a full head of hair for at least another 10 years.

A few decades? I'd love that! I'm happy to hear that you think I'm still in good shape, it gives me hope. I feel like my hair loss has accelerated this year. Which is scary. I really can't fathom the idea of being a high norwood one day.

Not exactly encouraging news.
Don't worry, I was just kidding. That's a line from Seinfeld. Now if you didn't treat it, I think you really would be in that kind of trouble. With finasteride and minoxidil you should be good. I bet you'll be a very good responder and get most of it back . Just give it time. You'll need to go through a couple cycles of shedding before seeing the results.

I've been on finasteride for over 2 years and minoxidil for just over 1.

Wow. I got the impression it was a few months. In that case you just have to hold you can hang on until better treatments come. At least it still looks pretty good so you don't really need regrowth. Have you considered dutasteride?

I've considered it. But at the moment I'm hoping finasteride and min will be enough to prolong it for a couple decades until something better comes along.

Of course you can diffuse while having male pattern baldness.

In a lot of agressive suffers this is seems to be common

You're not going to hang on to your hair for decades at your current rate of hair loss... It still looks good, but once it drops beyond a certain density it will be shave it time. We're all waiting for better treatments, Brotzu's lotion next year, Histogen in 2-3 years, Tsuji's dermal sheath cup cells sometime after 2020.
You could also look at antiDHtydrator topic, very extreme regimen but it should work if you're willing to pay the price

Shave it time? I hate to even think about it. I hate the sly look, so I won't ever do that, even if I lose more hair. I'll probably just get a close buzzcut. I just don't have the face for a bald head.
I'm going to fight this the best I can.

Low density hair transplant plus SMP and buzzcut will be the best option if Tsuji/Replicel don't come through for us. I think they are legit though. The others I'm not expecting much from.

Good advice!

Have you shared a pictured?

I recently shaved my hair off and was pleasantly surprised that I look okay bald. Not exactly better, but I don't look ugly, which is all that matters.

I posted a some pics of my hair on this thread a few pages back. Unfortunately, I won't look good if I go bald, I just know it.

I think it would look okay with a full beard that's well trimmed.

You have a decent face so you will never be ugly - I think that's important to remember.

I would look okay with a shaved head and beard? I wish that was the case, but I doubt it.
Thanks for the complement, though. I saw your pics, you definitely pull off the shaved head look!

Since it's been three years since I started finasteride, I thought I would do an update.
I definitely think my hair is still thinning, although I think it's slowing down. I don't notice any dramatic difference when I compare photos from a few months ago (there's pics on the first page of this thread) .This is where I'm currently at:

I believe I'm at the pointing of hiding the fact that I have a hairline issue, but pulling off a nice haircut is still a possibility, so that's good.

How old are you? How long have you been losing your hair?

At the moment your hair looks decent.

26 and I noticed hair loss about 3 or 4 years ago
If you can keep that hairline for the next ten years then you will be in a great place and you will find new treatments.

You just got to hope you hair hangs on. I'm in the same boat.
