Fat people stand out far more than their less grossly endowed counterparts. Sometimes it's
as simple as that. The U.S. is a young nation largely renowned for it's extravagant attitude(s) and increasing reckless abandonment.
the growing number of indifferent obese citizens here is disconcerting indeed and strongly suggests it's as much of a moral/mental crisis
as it is a physical health crisis.

I think its a few things
its food quality/quantity, its lack of physical exercise including what they call NEAT movement, and its technology.

That is what do you fantasize about while posing naked in front of jocks in the local gym's dressing room? ;)

That's commonplace in a lot of areas in the US these days, EL.

Seems like at least 80% of adults are visually overweight or obese in this country. And many of them are raising fat kids as well.

Just a national disgrace, imo.

Instead of "looks matched", it's more like 'body matched' over here. So many obese women with equally obese dudes.

As a man who makes physical fitness and nutrition a priority, it KILLS me to see fat slobs with no signs of hair loss...
The crazy part is that some women would prefer to date a fat slob over an in shape bald guy...

You may want to read this, Fred. I went out tonight with some friends, and I noticed that almost every couple I saw was NOT looksmatched; all the girls were 1-2 points uglier than their boyfriends. When I saw a chubby 4/10 girl with an athletic 6/10 I felt sick and wanted to puke. They were all in their 20s; but the cherry on the cake was this: I met five guys, all of them were 24-25, all were severely balding (Norwood 4-5), and they were better looking than me. They were the only ones completely alone (excluding myself, of course). I never felt so frustrated and depressed in months, and I barely slept tonight. If even 7/10 guys are forced to settle with 5-6/10 girls, what chances could I possibly have?

Female hypergamy, nothing to say. Apparently not many couples of people in their 20s are looksmatched after all.
This is the story you are telling yourself. I have dated girls that are average, above average, and all the way up to really good looking. Sure, like attracts like, but this is where confidence and charisma come into play. No one is forced to settle for someone much less attractive than they are unless they are incredibly ugly or overweight. I would never settle for a girl I don't find attractive and you shouldn't either. Hope this helps!

Yep, I remember a survey where the majority of women said they'd rather have their husband go fat than go bald.
It's definitely messed up but I feel as though the vast majority of women would choose a bald in shape guy than an overweight guy but it's not always the case.

Ive read surveys where majority women said dick size was unimportant. Then theres a survey where the majority say dick size is very important. Money. Looks. Point being, most of these surveys arent very scientific

This is the story you are telling yourself. If I woke up as the guy in your picture, life wouldn't be that much different. As long as you're decently attractive, you have the ability to live a fulfilling life. Sure, balding sucks but don't let it negatively affect you to the point where you can't live a great life. You're probably not as unattractive as you make it out to be. There's no reason why you can't be having a great dating life, you just need to improve your appearance and go out and make it happen!

yeah improve your appearance guy! just make it happen!

if you woke up as the guy in the picture you would be in the top percent for looks, its a scientific fact that facially beautiful people enjoy significant benefits socially and even financially. I dont disagree that many people here let balding dominate their lives and are sometimes even borderline delusional about it, but you're having a f*****g laugh if you think someone in the top percentile of facial attractiveness doesnt live a charmed life in comparison to the average person. FFS we're literally talking about someone who has broad almost universal sex appeal and gets paid just to look like they do. They didnt have to spend years developing a skillet and working with their nose to the grindstone, they just had their face and that was it.

I was simply trying to encourage him. Sure, your life may be a little better in terms of dating but my original point was that despite having good looks, you still need a solid level of confidence and charisma to back it up. I totally understand having your nose to the grind. I have been working very hard ever since I've graduated college on my career and other aspects of my life. It helps being good looking but it's not everything. You still need to work hard and find a way to succeed so yes waking up as that guy would only yield a small improvement in life quality.

the point you've missed since creating this thread is that being good looking in the first place begets confidence and "charisma" is mostly a function of being perceived as being good looking in the first place.

and wtf are you really comparing yourself to that guy? Dude, you're above average at best. A 6/10. Of course you know what working hard is like. We're talking about someone who is an 8 or a 9. You are not that, sorry to burst your bubble if thats how you perceived yourself.

Has anyone tried the slick bald look?

I shaved my head no guard and actually looked okay. I probably went from a 7 to a 6. Still managed to get dates when bald as well.

The only reason I've grown it back is that I feel hair suits my personality more. While I can do the tough athletic look I simply do not want to.

I've decided I will only shave it all off if I reach a NW4.

I am definitely not comparing myself to that guy. I honestly never thought about what I am on the looks scale. I understand that being perceived as charismatic is in correlation with your looks. All I was stating is that being confident in who you are and in your appearance can make a big difference in how people treat you.

We're all just telling ourselves stories. Isn't it great, @CopeForLife , @FredTheBelgian ? All we went through was just an illusion, we just have to be confident! Sure, I'm a half-deformed 3/10 while sbamerican is probably a 8/10. but who cares? It clearly has no relevance at all. :D
I was only trying to help man and give an encouraging word! My bad. I know how painful hair loss can be. It truly destroys your self-identity, your self-esteem and definitely impacts the way people treat you especially the opposite sex. I apologize if I offended you or anyone.

I prefer the version with Liam Hemsworth, but this works well, too. ;)

I prefer the way this guy's looking at you with that grin on his face while he's feeding you his sh*t

That was sponsored by the manufacturers of Rogaine AFAIR, but I don't think it's far from the truth. Most women despise baldness, and its incurable. If the hubby goes fat there's always the hope of him getting inspired one day, buying a pair of Reeboks and ten pounds of frozen chicken. No such thing with baldness.

Girls care about weight far less than men. Depending on what 'fat' means I would definitely believe this to be true.

I know guys at a weight level that would render any girl 3/10 at best. But they get hot girls. It's simply not the same for girls.

Maybe most but not all :D

You can't put all girls in a basket.

Confidence matters in certain situations like at a club or bar, I doubt that a single female friend of a friend would be impressed that a guy showed confidence. Acting natural in order to fit in and appear "normal" should be the end goal in my opinion.
