Confidence...

I have been reading (and have been told) for years about other people telling those suffering severely from hairloss to get confidence by "working out" and all these other things.

Ok so I started doing those things.. I have been working out for year and am im pretty good shape. I am always willing to help people, more than most. I have gone to therapist. Taken pills. Taken supplement. Changed my diet and cleaned it out. Used relaxation. Used self tanners for my pale skin.

Basically done every "other" thing I can think off and it has not affected how I felt. I mean I feel pretty confident about my body because I'm in better shape than your average person but doesn't factor in the overall picture.

So what else is left to get the confidence one needs to overcome baldness? And those who are below NW4 don't count so please don't tell me "you did it". Thanks.

On a side note, didn't uncomfy man say something about going to see his kid? Haven't seen him on here since. I wonder how that worked out? Anyone know?

Well there is only one thing left to do... Grow your relationship with the lord through praying, reading the scripture, and attending a good church. The rest of the things you tried are all good, but only the lord can give you the confidence you need given your situation. God bless!

God!

Dont use self tanners hatprisioner, just lie down in the sun for 15 minutes everyday.

Then go to a tanning salon, and as long as you dont wax your body hair off, your not a douche.

buy a nice car ;)

j/k but the key is to forget about it. You're in good shape, maybe excellent shape, so what man is superior to you being that he has more hair? It's all about how you feel, as everyone has probably said hundreds of times. You made a great decision by improving your health and diet, just keep focusing on bettering yourself and the worries about hair will slip away.

I have been trying for years to forget about it. I have done all that other stuff to try and forget about it. It just hasn't worked so far. So I am at a loss as to what else is left to try.

To be honest, if doing all of that hasn't helped your confidence at all, then your problem is psychological, rather than physical.

Start therapy if you haven't already.

Already been down that road a few different times. It's not that I have some hidden past and I need to figure it out to get over it. I know exactly why I don't have confidence. So talkingabout it with therapists never made a budge into it.

Ok HatP,

I have some questions for you. Firstly, why not give religion a try? Don't think into too much at first, just read religious books or the bible with an open mind. You will be surprised how it can give you a purpose in life when you may feel like you don't.

Secondly, there is a way. Maybe it’s time you change your life from the foundations up. Think outside the box. Why not pick up and move to another country where you won't feel so self conscious. What about some place where the world works differently? Some place where nobody knows you. Somewhere hot so you can get that tan you have been looking for all your life…lol.

Do research into it; maybe just go there for a few weeks. Set yourself a goal. Say to yourself, I want to be there within a year. So that gives you one year to make as much money as possible. Once you have goals you enjoy life more.

Just an idea.

Well basicly there's nothing you can do.
You've tried everything and it has'nt worked. These things are not miracle cures they are not going to turn your life around they're just intended to help give confidence boosts.
Look there's only one way for you to regain confidence and it wont happen over night it will be a long and slow process.
Want to know what it is?
Easy just go out and get yourself a job and start living like a normal member of society (because bald people are also normal members of society).

....But I know that you'll simply say that you cant do that because you dont have the confidence.
So thats it, unless you just want to continuously keep going round and round in circles. :shakehead:

Optimus,

I just never believed in religion. I think the whole idea of religion is kind of stupid. There was one point when I considered it but you can't just do it if you don't buy into it.

Oh believe me, I'd love to pick up and leave but there are two people in my life that I can't just leave behind. And they can't go with me either.

See the thing is, there is no actual point to what you just said. Basically "just do it" to paraphrase.

It would be like if some guy who has a family is struggling to make ends meet and people post to him, "well then just become a successful millonaire" as if it's that easy lol.

Well, the point is that it's the only thing you can do. There is no miracle drug to gain confidence... you got to build it and it ain't an easy thing. Put yourself in situations in which you think you can't live in and surprise yourself by doing so.

You seem so helpless... you ask for help everywhere and no answer seems to fit you. The only answer left is to organize a meeting between one of your foot [really, you have two, pick your favorite] and your ***.

You have everything you'll ever have to be happy. Stop being sorry for yourself, there is one sure thing in life : you're stuck with what you are, make the best out of it.

You can do better.

Hey man,

I don't deny I am stuck. If I wasn't stuck I wouldn't be here. But the thing is you try all these things and they don't help or work. You run out of options and hope.

I just wish I had the optimistic views other people have things. If I only had one leg but wasn't bald, I could manage. I deal with physical pain all the time. The only thing comparable for me is someone who is scarred in a fire. Only because it hit out of nowhere. Now if I was born bald, this probably wouldn't be an issue. Hell if I went bald at a normal rate and not from a Norwood 1 to a NW6 in one year, this would be so much freakin easier.

First of all, with only one leg you wouldn't even have the choice of the ***-kickin foot. Oh misery...

Come on... don't put things to such extremes. I can't believe you were a hard-*** iron confidence SOB before hairloss. The problem must be farther than this shinin' head of yours. You blame your look for your depressing state when you're a 34 YO unemployed guy staying with mom and dad.

You can [must] have a job and can [must] get away from mom and dad. After this and this is done, let's see if the your hairless dome will be the first of your thoughts. No, you'll think about eating, keeping your girlfriend happy and paying the bills.

Oh, f*** physical pain, it's psychological.

If all the advices you got here doesn't help it's because you haven't tried enough. Don't try to justify "it's because this or that" or "if"... Just repeat until it works.

I think what you are failing to realize is that it's not that easy FOR ME. I mean some of it not gonna happen. Religion? I don't believe in it. I can't pretend to. Shave my head? Already do it every week. Get in shape? Already do it every other day. Eat well? I already do it. Be a good person. I believe I already am.

With me, it is psychological I agree. I don't feel comfortable with how I look and I haven't in a long time. It's really that simple. I'll tell you what. Go to your job naked (while everyone is clothed), and tell me if that was comfortable for you.

Bad example. It's not normal to be naked in most public places, but it is to be bald at 34. I understand the uncomfortable feeling you have... I was in a similar situation before buzzing my head to a #1.

But you'll have to move on... or else your life won't get any better. But maybe you don't hate your current state that much.

Oh well... good luck.

No not at all, because becoming a millionaire is extremly difficult, the whole world is trying to do that but only a tiny % achieve it because you need either a talent, great brains or a once in a life time opportunity.
However for you to act like a normal person (bald or not) go outside and get yourself a job and rejoin society is easy you're fully capable of doing it today.

Can you think of one real reason why you cant do this? And saying because I have a bald head does'nt count.
