Considering dropping Ketoconazole (Regenepure DR) - currently starting 1mg finasteride

Has anyone dropped Keto from a finasteride-only regimen and continued to see improvement / maintenance levels of hair?

I've started on finasteride this month. I've been shampooing with Keto for three.

I am getting the impression that keto is best used in conjunction with minoxidil, but with finasteride it is less significant. Since I am not in minoxidil yet, I don't want to waste my money.

Before this I was not using shampoo at all "no poo"

Thanks in advance

Yep. I started using keto roughly the same time I started on finasteride. I had great results after 3 months, then dropped keto, and continued to see great results up until 1 year. I used keto for a few months a while back, but didn't notice any difference whatsoever.

If you can't / won't use finasteride for whatever reason, it wouldn't hurt to use keto along with minoxidil, but I don't see any reason to use it with finasteride unless you don't mind spending money on it.

Keto is good with minoxidil because it clears the gunk left by the vehicle used, which in some cases from what I was able to read may cause dermatitis and dandruff. Ignore all the bull**** about being a weak AA. Fungus weakens the hairs too and that's where you need an anti-fungal shampoo to clear that up.

Thanks guys. I think I'll use up this bottle and then switch to a cheaper shampoo for a while.

I'm using a cheap shampoo with zinc pyrithione. Not sure if I should switch to ketocarozole or if what I'm using will be sufficient. I'm on finasteride and minoxidil as well.

Has anyone read this site's reckless promotion of Nizoral, http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/hair-loss-treatments/nizoral/ ?

Couple excerpts:
You wont succeed without a Keotoconazole Shampoo like Nizoral or Regenepure (pictured left).Sound like an exaggeration? It's not. Treating hair loss is a pretty complex process. This aspect is simple. Everyone needs Nizoral shampoo. Without it, no proven treatment will work as well it should. With it, you may not even need to begin treatments so soon. The point of this page is simple: Nizoral shampoo needs to be in the shower of every person seeking to stop their thinning hair. Lets take a look at why ...

Lol. I'm pretty sure Nizoral isn't more important than finasteride and minoxidil.

There are many theories on how exactly Nizoral assists in treating hair loss.

Wait. So it's the most important part of treatment and we don't know how it works?

Is Nizoral really that important? If I do buy keto, I'm not buying the brand this website is obviously getting paid to promote. Anyone?

I'm starting to get the feeling that this site is funded by shampoo sales. No judgement, I still appreciate it being here
