Hi People, im am on Propecia for about 10 months and on rogaine 5% for about 7 months. I have had my share of sheds, and my hair is definatly maintained.

Since mid november i have been shedding a lot, but the diffrence now is that my hair is not getting thinner. The intial sheds i had made my hair very thin.

Nobody shampoos out 50 hairs every morning right?
It is definatly a shed right ?

What is going on??

I have had much success in avoiding shedding using folligen therapy spray.

you say your hair isn't getting thinner, so don't worry. your hair can actually be getting better even though you see many hairs come out in the shower.

i've been on minoxidil almost a year now. my hair is 100% better than a year ago, but i still have a good bit come out in the shower. maybe even more than pre-minoxidil days (hard to remember).

If you are not freaking out and your shedding is really lasting over 2 months it may be time to take a look at what you are using to fight your battle and re-evaluate.

I've been shedding for about 2 1/2 months and it's slowly subsided to around 15-20 hairs a day. My shedding was caused by an exessive amount of Folligen which has done a remarkable job of growing new hair to replace the old.

They say that people without male pattern baldness can shed from 50 to 150 hairs per day. so if it is 50 in the shower, day and night, and say 50 walking around, that is pushing the limit, but might be "natural".

do you shed just in the shower, or also from brushing, on the pillow, or shaking your hair over a piece of paper during the day, etc.?

And do you actually count your hairs in the shower? I know when I use a filter to check for a shed every 2 weeks or so, there is also a lot of other gook that ends up making it LOOK like here are more hairs than there really are.

Good luck.
