For those that think stress is a big factor in your shedding or hair loss, did you get the cortisol test or have your thyroid examined?

Thanks

Yeh, I had a subclinical thyroid disease, iodine deficiency and latent iron deficiency (well, some of them are yet to be compensated). Also booked another visit to check that cortisol.

if that was the case wouldnt your hairloss reflect it in being patchy lost clumps and not your traditional male pattern baldness exposure of temples and vertex?

I had my thyroid checked when I first started receding, Everything checked out fine for me. I would think on stress you would need to be having extreme amounts for it to have an effect on your hairloss, It certainly doesn't improve the condition of you male pattern baldness, but it isn't generally the route cause.

Stress will increase the Androgen Receptors and the binding affinity, ie you could have the same amount of DHT and test. but it will have a much greater effect.

Even the smallest amount will have an effect, and no it would not be patchy

I've posted this question on my other thread but no one can answer it or don't have the time to answer it. Anyway, so i'll post it here. Hopefully somebody can answer it for me.

If you have short hair that won't grow any longer than a few millimeters on your head, will it grow longer and thicker? I have these short hair that won't grow for the last 3 years. So i was wondering if they will grow longer and thicker?
Thanks

Oh, I know a fellow who is just like that. He's nw1 but the space between his hairs is quite noticeable. Well, don't know, it looks so.

Where did you read about stress increasing androgen receptors?
