After taking a single pill of finasteride 2 months ago and ball ache for 5 days, I've since experienced mental (headache, depression, confusion), penile and libido problems which definitely started only after taking finasteride and are still there without much having improved. I'd like to convince myself that this is anxiety but too much seems to add up for me to do that, even though it sounds ridiculous.

Could a single pill theoretically however unlikely cause PFS? I've read about a few doses, but never about a single one. Maybe it's because so few people take exactly one dose and then just stop.

Since I've been taking a mg daily for 5 months and had absolutely nothing happen, neither a side effect or intended effect, it's tough for me to believe anyone could get pfs from one pill. Your body will constantly make dht, finasteride binding to one days worth of it seems like it couldnt change anything.

Pfs dont exist so stop worrying, its all in your head. You could get sides tho if you are in the unluckly 1 or 2% who gets them, in that case you can quit and they will go away.

Definitely yes. I for certain had these same things from a single dose. No dick problems though, but after a while I can say it does change that some too, its pretty minor for me though. The dizziness and stuff went away after a while and I lowered my dose more.
Also just my opinion for me, but I felt like my back hurt more than it did before finasteride. Like it got sore and felt uncomfortable a lot faster and more often just randomly a lot. I think these sides are from the neurosteroids it inhibits just my guess.
I just want to say though it changes or did for me. It went away by itself, and sometimes come back but very subtle. The first few days are the worst, and its not for sure PFS its just your body trying to adjust to a foreign substance.

There is a HUGE difference between being born without dht at all and reducing dht past puberty. Those born with dht deficiency will obviously not develop male genitals, and that’s because dht is vital for men until a certain age. Now past a certain age, it gets debatable whether or not dht is needed in the body.

I dont think its much debatable that DHT does have uses in the body. Its in the skin for one thing. Whether its okay to remove or lower it safely? No one has a clue, but the studies do show its safe for up to 10 years. People have been on it for 20 now so its safe for 20 also.

It is debatable yes and even the scientists admit that nobody knows exactly where those enzyme really are, i mean they found them in the brain, prostate, liver, tissues but they suggest they are all over the place and for this they need more studies.. You are evidence dht might actually be bad for brain functions since you think i mean dht have NO function.

It has a very important function during puberty and childhood for the development of sexual organs in males.
But in adulthood we have had no research to show any vital function of dht, just because its still there in adulthood dont mean its serving any real function. The people born without dht actually confirms this as their problem is their sexual development and nothing else. They dont have any pfs... To you i want to say to calm down and keep taking finasteride, you will see its 99% all in your head with time. If you are one of the unlucky ones to get sides then you can stop and they will go away.
