Could do with some advice

Today I received my order of kirkland minoxidil, but i'm going on holiday in about 4-5 months with the lads, and I've heard minoxidil can cause a massive shed; obviously I don't want this.

I've been on propecia for 11 months now, seems to have maintained; or it hasn't got much worse anyway if it hasn't. My crown still looks thin; which is more obvious if not styled correctly. I also dyed my hair about 3-4 months ago, and can see a good 1 1/2 - 2 inches of roots on my crown; so it looks like most of the hair is still in the growing cycle.

If I start using the minoxidil now; is there a good chance I'd have a huge shed? I'd probably only be using it in the crown area. From what knowledge I have, minoxidil only makes hair shed that's in the telegen phase anyway; but I just want to know what you'd do in my position. Thanks in advance!

From what I've heard.. yes. This is one reason I am opting for things like Hair Regain, Spectral RS and copper peptides first and then falling back on the minoxidil later if needed!

It probably does vary person to person though, I would imagine the more you find yourself shedding in general, the more shedding minoxidil will trigger, as it implies more hairs may be in telogen.

I doubt it will be huge.. but I have no first hand experience..

I agree with Hoppi. I was wondering though that if Propecia is working for you, why change now?

Thanks for the advice, I started it pretty much same day as I made this thread and shall continue using it; it's nowhere near as troublesome to use as I thought it'd be initially.

I decided to add minoxidil to my regime because I'm quite young (22 years old), and I feel that if the balding process has already started then I need all the help I can get to keep it at bay. The propecia has helped me maintain, and I feel minoxidil can help contribute to this and possibly even regrow some.

I'm also doing other things as well, like multi-vitamins and improving diet. Seeing as it's easier to maintain hair than it is to regrow, I feel it's better to make sure I keep as much as possible.
