Could switching from Rogaine foam to generic cause shedding?

I've read on here that some people have experienced shedding when switching between liquid and foam. Now that I'm seeing generic brand foam on the shelves, I'd like to save some money by using that, but I'm concerned this might happen. Any experiences/thoughts?

foam and liquid of any brand work in the same way. I guess u can shed if the absorption of minoxidil is lessened or heightenend due method. say if you have long hair and dab foam on it, not a whole lot will be absorbed. if you go from foam to foam i wouldnt expect a shed. Mayby the ingredients or percentages difference a bit, but it's the main ingredient minoxidil that counts.

i use rogaine solution, when i switch to a generic minoxidil i feel as if the progress is halted, no shedding or hair loss though

i'm also very responsive to my minoxidil treatment cause i'm 17
