Hi all,

I've had a cowlick my entire life, however when I got home for the summer, my mom said it looked like I was thinning at my crown, but my dad says its fine. I've asked some other people with 50/50 responses so I'd like your guys' opinion. For what it's worth, my mom's dad is bald, but my dad (59) and his dad (89) have full heads of hair.

Any input is appreciated.

Looks ok to me. Take another pic in 6, 12 mths etc and compare.

Thanks for your response zeroes. I should have said in my original post that my hairline is between NW1 and NW2 if that means anything in terms of male pattern baldness.

Anyone else? Kinda feel bad asking since early; I do still have much of my hair, but if I do have something I'd like to catch it early, and I'm getting worked up about it now.

I thought I'd update this thread. As zeroes suggested, I didn't take a 6 month update but this is more like a 17 month update. I can't tell much of a difference but I'm not an expert at these things. If anyone could give me some input i'd appreciate it.

Looks fine to me. It's sometimes easier to spot hair loss when hair is wet. Especially with diffuse thinning it's a lot easier to catch it. Maybe take some damp hair pics but it looks fine.

Not to sound hostile or anything, but why the Hell would you bump a two year old thread with old pictures? Wouldn't you have a better idea now just by taking a current photo and comparing it to the old ones?

Those pictures aren't old...I took them a few hours before I uploaded them. Also, why would I start a new thread and have to dig up the old pictures if they were right here?

dude that **** definetely got worse

I'd agree. It's not progressing very fast so he's probably fine for another year or two before it's obvious... but I'm pretty sure it got worse.

I decided to update this thread because when I'd comb my hair I started to notice the part a little more than usual. It actually coincided with me using a new comb which split the front down more than usual and I started to worry maybe more hair was lost. When I went back to using my regular hair brush (which I used regularly during the original set of pictures), my cowlick went to looking more like the above pictures.

In any case, I appreciate your guys' response. If I do have crown thinning, Rogaine is the thing to use right?

Also, I have a general question about the hairline...is it true that where your wrinkles are located, hair didn't grow there? and thus following the hairline would lead you to your juvenile hairline?

It really doesn't make a difference, it's not like this thread is a million pages long, and it has the before and after pic for reference. If the date of this thread (that isn't yours) makes you this upset, you are going to have quite a difficult time in life.

nice calculaor name OP. when i compare the 2 pics the only thing that really looks different to me is the lighting, but it wouldn't hurt to give it some nizoral. Nizoral is a good shampoo for pretty much anybody.

i had terrible and ugly cowlicks my entire life - but after 25 years i finally bought a bottle of conditioner - its amazing what it has done to my hair :D i was using that 2 in 1 head and shoudlers crap all my life - **** YOU HEAD AND SHOULDERS!! uh, sorry.

but yeah its kinda ironic, it took almost losing my hair, to get my hair in the best health it has ever been in my life. i always though "oh i just naturally have crappy hair" and kept it short, but now i got some nice luscious locks going on, falling on my forhead, sexy as fuark! i am a pretty good looking guy and usually kept a military crew cut cus id look like crap with longer hair, but now i think i look even better with long sexy conditioned hair :)
