gourmetstylewellness.com posted on here a while ago that American Crew were re-doing the Revitalize range.

I've just received a bottle of the spray and here are the new ingredients.

WATER (AQUA) (EAU), ALCOHOL DENAT, COPPER GLUCONATE, POLYQUATERNIUM-11, AMODIMETHICONE, NONOXYNOL-10, TALLOWTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, DIMETHYL LAURAMINE ISOSTEARATE, LINOLEAMIDOPROPYL ETHYLDIMONIUM ETHOSULPHATE, PANTHENOL 9PROVITAMIN B5), POLYSORBATE 60, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT (GREEN TEA) SERENOA SERRULATA FRUIT EXTRACT (PALMETTO), CITRIC ACID (SWEET POTATO), FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), BENZYLBENZOATE, CITRONELLOL, COUMARIN, HEXYL CINNAMOL, BUTYLPHENYL METHLPROPIONAL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, HYDROXYSOHEXYL 3-CYCLOHEXENE CARBOXALDEHYDE, BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE, METHYLPARABEN, BLUE 1 (CI 42090), EXT, VILOET 2 (CI 60730)

Looks like they've replaced the ALANINE/HISTIDINE/LYSINE POLYPEPTIDE COPPER (that's in Tricomin) with COPPER GLUCONATE.

There's no mention on the new bottles of PROCYTE CORPORATION COPPER PEPTIDE TECHNOLOGY US PATENT No. 5,550,183.

Is COPPER GLUCONATE of any use or is it time to move on to Tricomin?

Where did you get that bottle from? I just bought 2 bottles and it was still the old version...which I'm thankful for after reading this. I've not aware of the possible benefits of copper gluconate if any, so College, Bryan...anyone?

thanks for the warning. I'm going to buy some of the old stuff today with my credit card now. I wish i had got my ebay account set up. They won't email me my user name and customer service won't reply to me. It is so unfair, all those low prices and the f*cking site won't let me open a new account or access my old one.

I got it from a very reliable UK website 'Mankind.co.uk' , they'd run out of stock a few weeks ago, so I guess got the new stuff direct from AC!

The bottles look identical apart from subtle changes in the copy, on the general description on the front the words "A patended technology" are now replaced with "An effective technology"

I guess that ProCyte were asking for too much money from American Crew to carry on using their patent!

It's dissapointing because I love Crew products, the shampoos, styling stuff are great, but it seems they've been a little sneaky changing the formula, the bottles look identical, almost like "change the formula while nobodys looking". Companies like this usually make such a big deal of flashing "NEW IMPROVED FORMULA" but not this time!

Anyway, the point is, a lot of guys on here use this stuff. And now it's not a Copper Peptide product meaning its unproven and probably useless!

Copper Gluconate

Copper gluconate is a readily absorbable form of copper often used in quality copper supplements.

But first, what is copper?

Copper is an essential trace mineral that is present in all body tissues. However, there are times when its concentration is higher than others. For example, during growth, copper will be more abundant in those developing tissues.
Info about Copper Gluconate
What are some functions and benefits of copper and copper glucoate?

For starters, it is "one of the most important blood antioxidants and prevents the rancidity of poly-unsaturated fatty acids."

It also helps keep cell membranes healthy and is "active in the storage and release of iron to form hemoglobin for red blood cells."

It may also act as an immune system booster, and help keep nerves and bones healthy.

Other potential benefits of copper gluconate include: helping with high cholesterol, osteoporosis, wound healing, benign prostatic hyperplasia, cardiac arrhythmia, hypoglycaemia, peripheral vascular disease, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Info about Copper Gluconate
Precautions and Side Effects
Copper can be toxic if taken in large excesses.

Average adults need about 2 mgs.

If you are pregnant and nursing, or on prescription medications, it is advisable you consult with your physician before taking copper supplements (or dietary supplements of any kind, for that matter).
Copper Supplements: Tips on Choosing a Product
1. Purchase your copper supplements from pharmaceutical GMP compliant facilities, which adhere to the highest manufacturing standards. This is especially important because dietary supplements are unregulated in the U.S., and consumers only have a 1 in 5 chance of buying a product that actually has the amount of ingredients stated on the label or one that is not contaminated.

2. Be sure the product does not contain any fillers or additives (examples include: sugar, starch, gluten, silica (sand!) or any artificial colors or flavors.

Why not buy the best? Your health depends on it.
Copper Supplements: Featured Product

One product that meets the above requirements, and much more, is manufactured by Xtend-Life Natural Products from New Zealand, which has regulatory guidelines much stricter than in the U.S.

Their flagship product, called Total Balance, is a synergistic, balanced, comprehensive health supplement. It contains copper gluconate , in addition to a full spectrum of minerals, vitamins, herbal extracts, speciality nutrients, and more.

In fact, Total Balance contains almost every nutrient we cover on this cover site!

We here at Nutritional-Supplement-Info have personally been taking Total Balance for almost 2 years with excellent results: we have noticed increased

Cassin, it's good reading that stuff, and i'm definatley no scientist/chemist, but aren't there hundreds of variations of copper complex and don't ProCyte (Tricomin) and Dr Pickard think they hit the right one regarding hairloss?

I've read studies that copper gluconate does not raise blood levels of copper.

I am not going to trust that new AC spray. I think Ebay is so cheap because it AC is getting rid of their old stock. Unfortunately, the stuff on Ebay often does not list ingredients, so I'd feel safer buying the old stuff on a different site that lists them.

I just gave my roommate cash to buy my AC spray on ebay. 2 for $27 including shipping. I also saved $80 on test books and $120 by getting a PDF for another.

Well hold on now, no one should assume we can't trust it. In fact, I am very curious about it and may give it a go when my current CP's are all used up.

Tricomin is pricey but we don't need to use it everyday. My last bottle lasted me well over half a year. I typically used it 3 times a week with about 4 sprays.

And yes, Follign is a variety of peptides.

The shampoos from tricomin and folligen won't do anything for your hair really, just use the sprays/serums/solutions.

they even say the CPs in the shampoo are at a much lower concentration. And a much lower amount of time to absorb. If hydration matters that much, just don't dry your hair after the shower, and apply them then. I quickly towel mine and then apply within minutes after the shower, but on some days I apply them to a dry scalp just incase that has benifits.

So is the topical copper gluconate found in AC products effective at treating hairloss?

I need an anti-oxidant for some fatty acids I plan to buy. I think they can be a lot cheaper than making it myself. As for making it in the lab, sodium hydroxide is so cheap ($5 per pound) that i don't feel guilty "borrowing some" for my own experiments while I do my proffessor's assignments.
