Crushing Proscar Pills

So I was wondering what your thoughts were regarding crushing up proscar pills then evenly dividing it up into the desired dosages and putting each in a gel cap ready for consumption. Obviously crushed up would absorb faster, can't see any complications there. It would mean accurate dosages, less hassle but a bit more time - thoughts?

unless you weighed it after chopping them up it wouldn't be a much more accurate dosing vs just splitting them.. there is not much difference in getting the exact dosage i don't think. just seems like a hassle vs any benefit (if at all)..

i split a 1mg propecia into halves and even if one-half is slightly bigger it doesn't make much difference as the tolerance is pretty wide i think.

for example, 0.5mg is about 80% as effective as 1mg.. you'd think cutting them in half would mean 50% but that's not the case.

i am not an expert though, just my research..

also worth considering that the active ingredient potentially may have some reaction to the atmosphere and crushing them will dramatically increase the rate of this reaction (if any)

A note on cutting the pills however, do the left overs have to be stored in a particular way or is keeping them inside a case for 4 days fine?

propecia pills are extremely small and i manage just fine cutting them in half. i only cut one pill when i need it because pills absorb moisture very quickly.. that is why they're coated with some stuff..

4 days should be ok, i would think. i'd atleast get one of those little pill moisture packets if you're going to cut and store them..

Keep them in a dark container if possible and away from moisture.

You're probably thinking of the special coating they put on Proscar and Propecia pills to keep pregnant pharmacists who handle them from absorbing any of the finasteride through direct physical contact. I doubt that the coating has anything to do with moisture per se.

Also, I remind everybody again that in the early stumptailed macaque experiments with finasteride, the drug was given to them as a POWDER on a piece of fruit.
