Current Routine Not Working (finasteride+minoxidil) - Getting Desperate And Whiling To Try New Products.

I've been on Finasteride and Minoxidil (keto shampoo sporadically) for over two years with little to no results. Hairline is still receding, hair miniaturization is still occurring, etc.

I'm desperate and willing to up the ante considerably. The logical next step is to get on Dutasteride, use a stronger concentration of minoxidil and possibly use RU58841 as well. I've a few questions for those who are on the same boat or have tried these products/

Dutasteride:

  • What dosage should I start? 0.5mg per day?
  • Should I stop taking Finasteride as soon as I start taking Dutasteride, or should I gradually phase the Finasteride out of my routine?

Higher % Minoxidil

  • I haven't been able to find a legit place to buy 10% or 15% minoxidil. The Xandrox website is a scam and not related to Dr. Lee in any way, shape or form. They are just taking advantage of the name Dr. Lee created to fool people into buying their crappy product.
  • For the people that have tried higher % minoxidil, where do you get your product? Or do you get a doctor's prescription, which I imagine is more expensive?
Ru58841

RU is the one I know the least about and the one that I have been more hesitant to try due to stories about it going systemic and having serious side effects. But at this juncture I really don't give a sh*t anymore and I just want to do everything to improve my hair.

  • I know a lot of you buy the power and make your own solution. But I'm willing to pay a little extra to buy a pre-mixed solution. Is there a good place to buy RU besides Anagen?
  • What carrier is more effective, PG + Ethanol or K&B Solution?
  • What is a good starting place in terms of dosage and frequency for RU? (times per day, milliliters per day, etc).

Thanks and I hope you can take the time to answer my questions and shed some light into my situation.

:)

I think definitely dutasteride and possibly RU may be good additions, but I don't know if I'd bother with upping the minoxidil percentage. I haven't seen much of anything positive about people using higher than 5%. Instead I think you'd be better off using tretinoin or dermarolling...something to increase absorption, which has a good track record of improving minoxidil results

Yes kj6734 is probably right, I read somewhere minoxidil's respond rate is only effective up to 3% I don't know if there's any science to back this up.
RU is experimental stuff man whatever anyone else might say it can harm you if it gets systematic. I've heard people get heart problems from it after it got systematic. Anyone please prove me wrong if I am I'm not a Ru expert but I know for sure it's not an approved solution for hair loss by FDA.
I'd suggest increase your finasteride dosage or get on dutasteride. Don't say you didn't get results, it probably helped you maintain.

Heart problems? I'm staying away from RU then...

Minoxidil is definitely dose dependent. Higher concentrations are more effective but they are hard to find.

Does your scalp still itch (not because of minoxidil) like before you started treatment ?
