Cut your losses and shave your head?

Has anyone bitten the bullet and just zipped off the remainder of their hair?

I'm 23, currently around norwood 3, with my vertex thinning now as well.

I've got really dark hair, so personally feel any hairloss and receding hair stands out fair more than it does with a fair haired person.

Any before and after pictures of those who decided lotions, pills, and transplants weren't working.

I'm nervous about shaving my head as I have a fairly large conk and have a few moles on my scalp.

I'm actually in the same boat as you, except i'm a bit older (28)... i have dark hair, so my recession is pretty visable. My weakest point would have to be my temples at this point which have wreaked havok on my hairline over the years. I usually keep my hair pretty short but every time i'd walk past a mirror and look at the state of my hair i'd get upset. Finally one day i came home and was so sick of obsessing over it i grabbed my professional taperer and shaved it all off, no clip. This thing cut SHORT too! It almost looked like i went Mach-3 on that ***.... except there was a little more stubble left. It felt kind of liberating though, knowing that i wouldn't have to obsess over it every time i looked in the mirror. If you aren't willing to go that extreme... another trick that you can experiment with is buzz the sides and back down shorter than the top. It works pretty well actually, providing you have the coverage for it.

I actually think buzzed hair looks fine, particularly if the person has tanned skin :)

However, I too am fighting till the end as I just love my hair.

It's really up to you, but don't feel you _have_ to as there really are a lot of treatments out there with a fair shot at working! :)
