I stumbled across this site back in November. At the time I was not really looking to
do anything but after reading some of the posts I thought I'd give it a shot and I'm
glad I did.

I started minoxidil 5% 1ml morning, 1ml night, finasteride 1.25 daily, retin-a rubbed in each night, 5 minutes of nizoral 5%
every other day on a dry scalp. I added tricomin just after these pictures were taken last week. Oral spironolactone 50mg for the
first month but stopped because my BP dropped to 105/65 and I was feeling dizzy a lot. My
BP is normally pretty low. No other sides at this point.

Here are my results at around day 70, you can't see them but I have a lot of light vellus hairs in the
frontal area that I hope can be kicked into action.

Starting point 11/2007:

Last week 02/2008:

I'm pretty happy so far but what do you guys think will it get even better?

I'm thinking about adding spironolactone to my minoxidil. Can anyone give me the math to make a 5% topical?

IMO, just keep it up, 2 months is not that long for majority of us. You should check your results after 6-8 months. I know it's long but that's the way it works....

I'm not sure if it's the lightning or not, but those results are great for only 2months. Keep going!

minoxidil shouldn't be mixed with spironolactone, they react with each other or something (I don't know the proper term in english). The only way you can use them in conjunction is to apply both separately. That way they don't have enough time to react or whatever the f*** it is they're supposed to do.

Wow good result so far! I think for only a little over 2 months thats a fantastic result. Keep up your regime dude! Its definitely working. Take some more pics at 6 months then 12 months and post them for us. You should get a great result. Keep us posted :)

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy so far, :) since I tried minoxidil about 10 years ago and had very
little results, it was expensive and I was cheap. I will update the pics every couple of months.

The lighting is different but my crown was SLICK bald, there were no vellus hairs in the
center. and very few around the perimeter. Now it's filled in around the edges at least
1/2" with thicker hairs and there is a ton of vellus all over that you cannot see
in the pictures.

Regarding the sprio minoxidil mix can I I just mix the spironolactone with water or is there something
better? I tried searching but did not find much info about mixing your own.

No you can definitely see that from the pics, the before pic was slick bald as you say and the hair count has increased around the edges and a little towards the front in the after pic.

As for spironolactone I just dont know enough about it, I dont use it myself.

Pm kielmack or college chemistry student from what i recall the have vast experience with spironolactone and pretty intelligent guys.
