This thread needs a bump...

I have already begun working out more at the gym. I went from 2 days/week to 4. I think I have another 3 years before my balding will be really noticeable, and I am determined to get HUUUUGEE!! by then.

Believe me... women wont be looking at your hairline if you have a flat stomach, pecs of steel and bulging biceps.

I have thought of this many times myself and honestly I'm itching to do it. For me I've been on propecia for 4 years and in the last year it's not keeping things in check for me anymore. For me, I wish I could go someplace and get my head mapped so I could see preview of what I would look like. I'm thinking along the lines of places where you can see what you would look like with different hair styles. Honestly, I have a really bumpy head, a long face, and I think I'll look absolutely horrible. If I had what I would consider a nice, proportionally, shaped head I would have shaved my head even when I had a perfect head of hair. Oh well, that day of shaving might come anyways... time will tell.

A reply to an earlier post in this thread.

Prostate cancer is NOT the #1 killer of men. Not by a long shot. Heart disease kills many many many more men than Prostate cancer.

In fact Prostate cancer is not even the #1 cancer killer of men. Lung cancer kills more people than prostate, breast and colon cancer combined!

Fighing for nine years

I began a "proscar" regime at age 19 in 1996. Now, obviously, I use propecia. I'm swithing to dutasteride tonight.

To the point. Hair loss sucks, we all know that. Everything we do in our lives is couples with the thought of, is my hair ok. Of course it isn't, we are going bald haha.

During my nine 9 years of struggle. I have discovered a couple things. 1. Propecia only "retained" hair for me for 7 years. It is losing at a bit (but still slower) rate now.
2. You can still get attractive women when bald or balding. I meet and date as many attractive women as I did with hair. Actually, the women I date now see my shiny scalp as an aphrodisiac in love making.
3. Live life, enjoy it, prevent it if you can (why not?). Make money, have sex, build a house.

from my experience women arent interested in little boys - men with hair resemble little boys more than men without hair.

i have never ever met a women who was bothered whether a man had hair or not (sure there may be some out there - but i dont know any)

think about it - why would a women give a sh*t? are they looking for something like them? no - they want something that COMPLIMENTS them. Bald men compliment women. Think of it the other way round - Are Men looking for women with bald hair and big muscles? not in general no. We want something that compliments us.

Men with lots of hair are almost like competition for women.

im convince that any women who cares so much about whether a man has hair or not is really a repressed lesbian who is in denial.

Have you noticed the common denominator/trick for all hair products? Once you use them you have to KEEP using them. You know what that means? Money our of your pockets and into their pockets for a long long long time.

80sRevival, you make some very valid statements here for sure. However, not all effective treatments require an ongoing financial obligation.

I hate to say it and it's my perception but what I'm hearing in your post is "SOUR GRAPES". No doubt that you're familiar with Assop's Fables. The possibility seems to be within your reach but due to this or that you call out "SOUR GRAPES! It never was meant for me anyway! It might have been possible but to avoid disappointment I'll just accept my lot". If I were to follow that line of reasoning with any other aspect in life I would be severely limiting myself. Good night dude! Be a fighter not a recliner! I guess that your hair is not worth the fight. Ok, that's great BUT PLEASE DON'T diss those here who do choose that fight and some here via use of minoxidil, Propecia etc., are winning!

good post, i understand what you say but the fact is if finasteride keeps hair for 6 yrs then personally given im only 20, its essential as its during this time that i hope to meet and be with someone in the long term, and like it or not the chance of getting a decent chick is much more with hair.
After that i dont mind whatever happens, but i think this 'f*** it' attitude which i had to start with but came to realise that if we said 'f*** it' to everything we would have no cars, no planes, no electricty, no cures to other diseases etc

hello everyone!

(great thread by the way. right on point.)

Lots of people keep saying that propecia works for 6 years max. Is it true? is it from your own experience? can you give a link to a survey?

thanks and hello :)
